09/30/2019: The Lady Clipper Barbershop has the best staff and environment in the DMV area. The staff are very attentive and go OVER and BEYOND your threshold of expectations as a customer. I don’t feel hounded as a woman or uncomfortable as I would in a regular “machismo” barbershop. Some of my most macho of friends have even found this shop to be very welcoming as well. I rave about this shop all the time. Lesley is the best and her other barbers are mastering in her footsteps! Don’t sleep on getting a cut from them; they are pretty dope too! From the music to the convos AND events, this shop is a staple in the historic U Street community. It warms my heart to know a woman of color can continue the legacy of “Black Broadway” and thrive in the midst of the U Street gentrification. The LCB is a true staple to the DC community and blueprint to lady barbershops worldwide.
