Therapists are great but administration is terrible do not use this company

Lifestance and their hired help are not interested in supporting people and making lives better but rather taking your money. I had an appointment with Dr. Suls and she didn't show up because I was uncomfortable providing my credit card before my appointment. Mind you, they had my insurance, didn't run it and tell people "we need your credit card or we will cancel your appointment." Talk about unethical and unprofessional! Dr. Suls could have showed up to the call and at the very leaat stated she wants to help but needs protocols met first. Honestly, it's a blessing because therapy should be a journey to betterness and not a way to make money off of people...disgusting!

Regrettably, Lifestance does not live up to its promising concept due to a stark lack of execution. It appears that the company's primary focus is on monetary gain rather than genuine patient care and support. The process of scheduling an appointment was initially straightforward on their platform. However, after a long, anxious wait of several weeks, I was informed on the day of the appointment that they don't accept insurance for couples counseling. It's quite disconcerting to discover that this is a recurrent issue affecting many, which clearly indicates Lifestance is cognizant of the problem yet chooses to leave it unresolved. To proceed, I was quoted a steep price of $350 per visit, which felt extremely insensitive. The whole experience has amplified my distress, rather than alleviating it as expected from a healthcare provider. Lifestance seems to be devoid of empathy and only exacerbated my situation. They uphold a 'No Surprises Act' policy, but in reality, it appears to be merely decorative text. This policy supposedly guarantees the right to receive a 'Good Faith Estimate' for the total expected cost of any healthcare services. This provision also covers ancillary costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees. Regrettably, this never transpired, and their only response was a superficial apology. In light of these disappointments, I implore others to reconsider before engaging with this company, which has proven to be utterly deficient in its service provision and patient care.

Absolutely terrible company. I tried 3 times to give them a chance and all 3 times have been worthless. First two times I kept getting booked with people that did not even perform the services I specifically requested. Now today, after waiting for 15 minutes I call to tell them the doctor still hasn't showed up and I need to cancel because I have to go to work in less than an hour. She tells me the appointment should have already been canceled and that was yet another scheduling error by them. They have absolutely no idea what they are doing. HIGHLY recommend finding a different provider because you will not have a good experience with these idiots. What a complete waste of time MULTIPLE times.

It took them a year to bill my insurance, threatening me with collections all the whole. Long story short, they owe me a $1300 refund and said it will take 8-10 weeks to process it.

If you leave your new insurance information on the billing voicemail, they will NOT then inform you that “they cant verify insurance over the phone”. One week later, they do not put your insurance into the system even though you have submitted it through the portal. This practice caused me massive headaches while I am suffering from mental illness to top it off. I will NEVER recommend this practice to anyone. The office/billing personnel are completely utterly incompetent despite giving you lip service over the phone.

Absolutely ludicrous practices of this office. My wife scheduled an appointment yesterday for tomorrow (7/19 for 7/21). She realized the next day that the appointment was not with a psychiatrist but with a psychotherapist (not what she scheduled for). So she cancelled the appointment and they charged us $100 cancellation fee because we cancelled 48-hours prior to the appointment time. SHE SCHEDULED THE APPOINTMENT 48-hours before the appointment. How can you charge a patient who isn't even officially a patient yet. Not one document has been signed. Not one HIPAA document has been signed. Not one practice policies document has been signed. NOTHING. NOT TO MENTION: the fact that even if SHE made a mistake in scheduling, she wouldn't be able to fix it without the $100 cancellation fee because she scheduled it 48-hours before the appointment date. Tried to call and fix it; apparently only Billing Dept. can handle it but they are closed. AT 3:45pm on a Wednesday, they are closed. What kind of practice is being run over there? I expect for this practice to fix this wrong.

Lifestance has been ok and my counselor really cares about me. BUT the company itself- LifeStance is…corrupt. Let me explain. I had family come into town UNEXPECTEDLY, and completely forgot about my appointment until my calendar sent me a notification 24 hours before my appointment time. I immediately called and left a message that unfortunately I would not be able to attend, explaining the situation. A couple weeks later I received a bill in the mail for over $100 for “late cancellation”. Upon receiving this I again explained the entire situation to my counselor and the billing department, trying to plead with them that the situation was a one time mess up and I really tried my best to leave as much notice as possible. They had no remorse or forgiveness whatsoever, and did not even try to correct this. When my counselor brought it up to billing management, they immediately rejected my plea for understanding and upheld the $125 fee. I even explained how I didn't have a job and how this would essentially be taking food off my table- this was a one time mistake that would not happen again.. They didn't care. They referred to a small section within the agreement I signed with them over a year ago that mentioned that one must give a minimum of 48 hours notice. I'm still stuck with the $125 fee, and no matter how much I don't want to pay this fee, I have to or else it will destroy my credit. First of all: I gave as much notice as I could at the given time with the given circumstance, it's not like I just blew off my appointment. To have no remorse or forgiveness really shows the company's true colors- its greed. Especially with its customer base; those going through a tough time in life and have reached out for help. It would seem to me that LifeStance does not really care about its patients and uses legal document technicalities to squeeze more money out of people given the chance. Second of all: We are human. Most of us don't carefully read the entire 20 page legal agreement written by lawyers while we are trying to receive help as quickly as possible. And even if we do, as time goes on we can forget small little details. Referring to a small section of a large legal document years later to justify charging mental health patients absurd fees without listening to the patient's circumstances is cruel. Finally: Really…$125 for a late cancellation fee?!? I would hate paying even $50. But $125…..wow. If this does not prove this company's relentless greed, what else would. I understand a deterrent to late cancellations and no shows, but THIS… this is a punishment. I really like my counselor, but you ultimately deal with LifeStance when it comes to billing and other business matters. They don't listen to reason, care for your needs, or care about your circumstances. I cannot benefit from my counseling if i'm stressed about the company I'm dealing with. I will probably attend the rest of my scheduled appointments then stop dealing with this company for good. I wish you all the best for your health. If you want to deal with a company that actually cares for people, look elsewhere. Words cannot even describe how disappointed I am with LifeStance.

I set up an appointment with their office 5 days ago and they took my insurance information set me up with an appointment with Jennifer Milam and then the day of the appointment they told me that I had filled out the paperwork wrong which wasn’t true I verbally set up the appointment with their people witch had me fill out a small questionnaire. They said I made the appointment as a follow up opposed to a new client. Their representative knew clearly I was a new client due to him taking my insurance information. They are obviously unorganized and unprofessional. When I stated my concern to the representative who is telling me my appointment has now been canceled they could care less. I’m not sure if it was Jennifer Milan or an employee with bad people skills but nevertheless they drop the ball an this place is very unprofessional! How do you screw up a clients first appointment? It’s truly unbelievable.

I received some care from a psychiatric nurse practitioner here, virtually, during the pandemic. They were helpful, they got me my prescriptions. I did feel like the amount of care and scheduling sessions was maybe a little much, and more than necessary. My biggest issue has to do with billing. I made them aware of and problem with not submitting a claim to my insurance that they were billing me directly, and it went unattended for a long time on their end. Then they send it to collections, and I made them aware of the error and they acknowledged the error verbally, but never in writing, it's been almost a year and its still not resolved and beyond the window for my insurance to now process the claim.
