It was a fantastic trip and beautiful country at Mackay Bar. Joni and Buck were top notch hosts and the fishing was fun. I have been to Alaska and Florida on trips, but this trip to the Salmon River was my favorite.

We had a great time at Mackay Bar Outfitters. This was our first experience at Mackay Bar and fishing on the Salmon River and in Idaho. The beauty of Salmon River is mesmerizing and it makes you want to extend your visit. All the Mackay Bar people, facilities, food and enjoyment make us want to return. Our fishing guide, Jake, made our time on the river so enjoyable. He also shared lots of history about the area. We look forward to coming back, hopefully in the airplane, next time.

Buck and Joni run a first class operation. The rooms were very nice,clean well decorated. The food was fantastic. Fishing and jet boat ride was great. Lots of wildlife along river. First time in Idaho on the Salmon River and will be coming back to enjoy the ranch again.

great time , great food . buck was knowledeable guide and very experienced in handling the river and jet boat. very nice rooms . beautiful views and we a had a great time getting our concealed weapons permits. Jim Georges and his female staff made our lessons a breeze and very informative. I would recommend their weapons training for both women and men.

Best trip in a long time. While my bear wasn’t a big one Buck and Joni run a class operation. They renewed my opinion of what a true outfitter should be. Now to drop some more lbs for the elk hunt

This past June 2019 we attended their "couples weekend". It was a wonderful relaxing experience. Our cabin was extremely clean and well appointed. The entire staff (more like family) were very accommodating. Above and beyond. Even took a few out night fishing just because. The food is outstanding!!! The boat rides were awesome and they had various stops along the way. We will be returning in 2020 and cannot wait.

We float the Main Salmon River every Summer-have done so now for 25 years. We have stayed with Buck, Joni and Dax at Mackay many times. They are fabulous hosts, the food is phenomenal, the setting ideal. Activities like backcountry horse rides, fishing in special little known spots, or a jet boat trip in the rapids are available. Or one can just enjoy the tranquility and relax under the pergola or in a hammock. Highly recommend!
