Dr. Mandy Thompson is an internist with 26 years of experience. She worked as a hospitalist for 18 years and has since worked in an office-based primary care setting. She enjoys getting to know her patients and taking time to understand their needs.
Dr. Thompson grew up in Abernathy, Texas, located in the Texas panhandle. Her father and grandfathers were cotton farmers, and one of her first jobs was hoeing weeds! She obtained her undergraduate degree from Texas Tech University. She attended medical school at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston where she graduated near the top of her class. She completed her internship and residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham before settling in the Lakewood area of Dallas in 1993. She moved to McKinney in 2007 to become the Medical Director for Questcare Hospitalists at Medical City McKinney.
Dr. Thompson is an avid scuba diver and underwater photographer. She enjoys travelling to remote areas to dive. She has 2 schnoodles, Maci and Luna who keep her entertained.
