Down in South Louisiana, when somebody’s your friend, a common term of endearment is “Padna.” It’s a lot like “pal” or “buddy,” and we used to hear it a lot. You see, we’re from Cut-Off, a tiny bayou town located in the southern part of Louisiana. It’s known for seafood and hospitality that are both life-changing.
We’re Richard and Ryan Egle, co-owners of Padna’s. Richard is the patriarch of our family and, because of the strength of his relationships and gentle spirit, he earned the nickname “Padna” by all who know him. He was inspired to take that feeling of warm hospitality, mix it up with incredible Cajun delicacies, and introduce it to the wider world.
He began with a seafood market in Washington D.C. where he offered catering for the more discerning palettes in our nation’s capital. Now in Houston, Padna is introducing his passion for amazing and authentic Cajun eats, in an atmosphere that’s friendly and welcoming to everyone. With locations in Montrose and Midtown and more than 25 years of combined restaurant experience, we’ve got a goal that’s simple.
When you walk in the door, you’ll feel joie de vivre — the joy of living — with a little extra Cajun spice. Never had Southern Louisiana cooking? You’ll be introduced to mouthwatering boiled seafood, jambalaya, gumbo, etouffee, and so much more. We’re always happy to give you a recommendation, and our job isn’t done until you’re full, comfortable, and content.
