Paul C. Baldwin III, MD, graduated summa cum laude from University of Connecticut, with an undergraduate degree in chemistry and biophysics. He went on to earn his medical degree and complete his residency in orthopaedic surgery at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine in Farmington, CT. Prior to joining our staff, Dr. Baldwin completed fellowships in orthopaedic trauma surgery under the direction of Dr. George Haidukewych at Orlando Regional Medical Center at Orlando Health and orthopaedic hand and upper extremity surgery under the direction of Dr. Mark Baratz at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. Additionally, in 2017 he was named the John Border Memorial Trauma Fellow by AO North America. As the recipient of this prestigious international fellowship award, Dr. Baldwin spent six-weeks at Hannover, Germany, training under the direction of Professor Dr. (med.) Christian Krettek, FRACS, FRACSed, a world-renowned orthopaedic trauma surgeon. Dr. Baldwin is a candidate member of the Orthopaedic Trauma Association, a member of AO Trauma, and a resident member of both the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) and the American Connecticut Orthopaedic Society. He is also a member of the American College of Physicians and American Medical Association. Dr. Baldwin has published extensively in peer-reviewed orthopaedic journals on topics that include ligament reconstruction, fixation for hip fractures, hand and finger injuries, rotator cuff management, and pediatric fractures. Dr. Baldwin’s orthopaedic practice includes acute fracture surgery of the pelvis, acetabulum and extremities as well as treating complex reconstructive issue surrounding fracture care. In addition, his clinical expertise in hand and upper extremity surgery focuses on peripheral nerve compression and injuries as well as complex traumatic and reconstructive surgeries of the hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder.
