Dr. Sandeep Khandhar is board certified in cardiothoracic surgery and general surgery. He has a special interest in the management of lung cancer and employing minimally invasive techniques. He has been practicing cardiothoracic surgery in Northern Virginia for over a decade and has been granted many awards and honors, including Northern Virginia Magazine Top Doctors 2011-2018 and Washingtonian Top Doctors 2011-2018. Dr. Khandhar is passionate about collaborating with the three pillars of lung cancer care – medical oncology, radiation oncology and thoracic surgery. In an effort to steer the direction of growth and development in surgical lung cancer treatment, he sits on the advisory boards of leading medical device companies world wide, keeping them abreast of cutting-edge technological innovations in the thoracic field. Dr. Khandhar currently resides in Falls Church, Virginia with his wife and two daughters. In his spare time, he likes to travel.
