I'll cut to the chase - NO ONE should even consider using Stonebriar Moving for ANY services, including both packing and moving. Take the extra few minutes on Google to find someone else, and save yourself the frustration and money. My wife and I were so horrified by the services we received that we actually turned down the company's offer of a (very small) cash reimbursement for the opportunity to post this review.
We hired Stonebriar Moving to provide packing services and moving services in late June 2022. A three-man crew showed up to pack our home on Friday so the items could be moved into a storage unit the next day. We did not interrupt the packing process, we stayed out of the way of the "professionals" and allowed them to work without distraction. We also stayed largely out of the way when the same three-man crew came to move things into the storage unit, but we noticed the first signs of a potential problem during the moving process.
The crew was lazy and spent a significant portion of their time smoking pot in the back of the moving truck. The smell was obvious and on multiple occasions we had to go out to the truck to see where the crew was, as they had disappeared for long periods of time.
In late September, our new home was finally finished, and we used another company to move our things from the storage unit to the new home. We were horrified at the condition of our items. The packing services were atrocious - items literally thrown into boxes, including glass, with scattered packing peanuts that offered literally no protection against damage. We had to throw out many items while unpacking. The moving services were just as bad. We discovered that nearly all of our furniture and appliances had at least some damage, and some items were destroyed beyond repair. The damage extended to items that previously held sentimental value to us.
Our opinion of Stonebriar's services was shared by the crew that moved us out of the storage unit in September. That crew (which had apparently been working as movers for nearly a decade) expressed shock throughout the afternoon. They refused to move due to Stonebriar's poor packing. The crew lead also spoke harshly about the quality of Stonebriar's work, including explicit statements that (1) they had never seen so many damaged items in one move, and (2) based on his experience, his entire crew would be fired for providing a similar quality of work. It should also be noted that the moving company we used in September was able to move the majority of our items into a new home without damaging anything or even scratching the walls at our new house. We were shocked to witness the difference between Stonebriar and an actual professional team.
We reached out to Stonebriar and were offered a paltry reimbursement in exchange for not leaving any negative review. We tried to explain the extent of the damage and the contributing factors, including negligent packing and use of drugs while working. We were effectively ignored by the company's owner, who refused to accept any responsibility for his team's negligence, or Stonebriar's clearly horrible hiring practices that led to this situation.
I strongly, STRONGLY urge anyone looking for moving services to avoid this company. If you are planning to use Stonebriar as a matter of convenience, keep in mind that an extra 2-3 minutes of searching on Google for a different mover will save you hours of headache and hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars in property damage.
