It isn’t difficult to get top dollar for a home these days. As an out-of-state client, my family and I retained Team Anderson after the passing of a beloved family member. The process of selling with them began fairly smoothly but the last half of the process was an absolute nightmare. The team we worked with was: (owner of the business) Doug Anderson, broker (and co-owner) Erica Anderson, and transaction coordinator Roy Losco. The job of a sales team is to take care of the client from start to finish and in this regard, they failed. They called themselves a “white glove” service, yet when we had a landscaping issue, which they had known about for several weeks, they did nothing to get someone to help us. There were other instances of them having dropped the ball, however, the worst one occurred when it came time to execute the sale, and I discovered that they had neglected to plan the transfer of property details. Their oversight ended up costing an extra $1600.00!!! The expense was totally preventable had they simply done their jobs from beginning to end. They actually openly admitted that they had made a mistake (a series of them, actually!) I shared my concerns immediately upon discovering the error and their excuses were the worst part of it: they literally admitted fault, yet took no ownership over the consequence. They then pressured me to close the deal by threatening me with legal action if I didn’t sign off while disputing the fees and just left me holding the bag for the bill. (That’s stone cold. And I have worked in the entertainment industry for over 20 years; that’s saying something. I think the whole concept of “Southern Hospitality” is something they don’t “do.”) People who are buying or selling a home are very vulnerable. Unfortunately, my experience was that business seemed to be all only about their paycheck. (Again: stone cold, especially after they played the whole “we are so sorry for your loss” card, what a sham.) The deal was only about their bottom line, and not our customer experience, much less what was fair and right. In this case, they should have taken a fair share of the financial burden, since their negligence is what caused it. I’d hate to see this happen to another family going through something similar. At best, I would say …for those coming from out-of-state, or out of the country … beware. If you are not right on top of this team, making sure they do their job every step of the way, it might be difficult to be assured they will successfully do so. –At least, that was my experience. Good Luck!
