I came to Tree City Dental by way of referral from a friend. I had one tooth that was sensitive to hot and cold so I knew I had a cavity. After having my teeth cleaned and X-rayed Dr Connaughton examined my teeth. Then I was free to go. As I was paying the receptionist for the services Doctor Connaughton came out and told me that I have 8 cavities and that I need 5 crowns. I was shocked. I had never at one time had so many cavities even after several years of not seeing a dentist. I told him I was self pay and just to “patch” them. There was no way I could afford those crowns. I set an appointment to get a couple of the ones that were priority. Later I returned to have a couple molars patched. Later that day after the anesthesia wore off I was in so much pain. I had never experienced such excruciating pain in my teeth as I did then. I wrote a bad review and later was contacted by Amy. She told me to come back in and asked if I would be willing to change my review. Upon their recommendation they sent me to the Endodontist for an emergency root canal. Later Dr Connaughton gave me a crown. That took care of the pain for awhile. He recommended that I get the other one also crowned next to it and we would fill the other cavities that needed attention to prioritize them. To make a long story short….. I ended up calling the Endodontist because the pain was excruciating in the molar that Connaughton patched. I later went to Aspen for another opinion and to possibly crown it. After the dentist examined the X-ray and checked my teeth, I asked him if I had any cavities and he said NO!!! Then I decided to go to another dentist which is Dr. Smith from McMillan Family Dentist. I had Tree Family Dental send my records to McMillan. After I was examined by Dr. Smith I also asked him if I had any other decay. He’s said No. I later scheduled my crown with him. My opinion is that Dr. Connaughton is not an honest dentist. I am so glad I went to get other opinions from 2 other Doctors. (Gut Feeling) So if you happen to have questions about your medical and dental professional it may be worth getting second opinions before any unnecessary procedures. Both Doctors from Aspen and McMillan never said that I needed to have any fillings redone. Really Doctor Connaughton, 8 Cavities and recommend 5 Crowns REALLY?? BUYER BEWARE!!
