The extremely frustrating thing that I have learned over the last 2 years since this happened is how very easy the remedy was for saving Sonny. We have done it repeatedly for other heart patients. That cardiologist Justin Allen at VCA West at 1900 Sepulveda was beyond negligent and had not even looked at Sonny and let him die! This was Not rocket science! Use Lasix, get the water off the heart, out of the lungs, administer oxygen to ease the stress on the heart. Feed Yossi’s a very gentle way to get potassium into the dog to help the kidneys and heart. NOT ROCKET SCIENCE! But vet bills that he kept submitting to my credit card company, Citibank, who KEPT PAYING them almost a year later totaled $2,800.00 for this completely negligent pos vetrinarian to kill Sonny Gomez! BTW, if this was not completely clear in the original post, the vet had told his staff to tell me he would call me back and had snuck out the back door leaving me calling for help 7 times and being told not to worry that Sonny was going to be ok and the dr was going to call me right back! 2 weeks later and only after his boss made him call me! He had nothing to say! He had no idea about Sonny because he had nothing to do with him, just left him on his own and lied about it! Finally and way too late one of the assistant vets at the the VCA West got on the phone and suggested I try more Lasix and admitted she could see where they had not administered the right Lasix and had given too little causing the whole episode! Sonny died less than 1 hour later and way too soon at that point for the Lasix to have taken effect! I know there is a special hell for a man who takes so much money and leaves a dog to die while lying to their family! Rotten dirty b****** has no business being allowed to treat kind sweet pups!! I guess I will always feel angry when I think about this!
