We created Virtual Run Events in April 2015 because we LOVE running! And even more, we LOVE connecting with runners. Shortly after we created Moon Joggers, we began to realize that we could encourage to people to get out and get moving, AND make a difference throughout the world by creating fun and unique events to raise money for various charities and causes. For each event we design a unique medal, invite people to get out and run (or walk) their own race, at their own pace and choose a charity to donate a portion of the proceeds to. We are on a quest to help provide food, shoes, schools, school supplies, water, toilets, toys and other needed things to people throughout the world and it is all happening through our Virtual Run Events. We love being involved in the running community and have made so many new running friends from all over the world. Thank you so much for participating! We are making a difference…one race at a time!

I found this group (and Moonjoggers) by accident when doing an internet search for local 5K run/walk races. I do a lot of walking in our neighborhood and decided to join. Even though I have only done a few of the virtual challenges, they keep me motivated since there are a few local 5K's that I plan to do this year and they keep me in shape. There is a nice variety of virtual challenges with really cool (and high quality) finishing medals. You choose which challenges you'd like to do and you can do them at your convenience. A lot of the proceeds go to charity. They also have a Facebook page - great group of people who motivate each other.

Love it. Only wish the moonjoggers log gave more options for where the miles were earned and how (ex. elliptical @ gym) etc.

II am a member of a local running club, which has club races once per month. So, it was a bit strange to run a race without other people running with me, however, my first virtual race was very special since it was the first race I ran with my dogs. (Dogs are not allowed at our club races.) I think this will be my new virtual race tradition: dogs run too. :)
