Like so many people, when I was young, I enjoyed being active and involved in sports and other physical activities. But even though I enjoyed an active lifestyle, I failed to adhere to healthy nutritional guidelines. That is, I enjoyed pizza and cheeseburgers on a regular basis without suffering the negative effects.
But as the years progressed and life transformed from college and sports to work and a grown-up social life, it became more and more difficult to engage in the activities that kept me in shape. And the diet of fast foods, pasta and Ramen Noodles weren't helping the situation.
This downfall continued for a few years and I began to see a steady decline of physical health. Sure, diets were tried and there was always a goal to eat healthier, but unfortunately, nothing ever stuck.
The time came when it became quite obvious that change needed to happen.
And then began the biggest journey of my life.
My conversations with Brian McMahon about what I could do opened my eyes to why I have failed for so long. He told me I was trying to achieve too much too quickly, which is a recipe for failure. I was shown the appropriate steps to a healthier and happier lifestyle.
I learned that even small lifestyle changes resulted in big results. I lost weight, felt much better and for the first time in my life I understood the difference it makes when you live a healthy lifestyle.
