Disaster of a company. Doing the math, I was a loyal customer for around 15-16 years, and up until a couple of years ago I never had anything to complain about. Now, combining the instances I'm soon to have lost somewhere between $75-$100 in shipping fees due to their return policy. This policy probably deters customers from returns, and evidently, is more financially viable to them than quality control. My point is they are more than comfortable sending you trash. My first red flag were a handful of overpriced dvds I bought 2-3 years ago, all of which were scuffed up and used, but, they worked and I dealt on good favor. Later, I bought a $895 wooden training dummy that arrived bashed on top, I ascribed this to shipping damage and since the damage was not on the bottom, I felt it would be more trouble than it was worth to return. Same order but shipped separately: a $264 straight sword arrived crushed at the handle's end. I contacted them and was told they had none in stock / I would need to wait until December. I said this was fine. Well, December came and went, then five emails left unanswered. It was around this time I spotted a review from another customer who claimed they needed to dispute the charge through their credit company to get attention. I sent WLE a final email emphasizing how long I'd been a customer / asking if this was also what I needed to do because I didn't want to have a bad relationship with them, and got a reply (they are reading). I was instructed to return the sword so that it could be repaired for resale but they would send me a new one. I requested a tracking number for the replacement the day after they claimed to send it and received no answer. The replacement did arrive but the tracking on the box indicated that it didn't actually ship when they said it would. This frustrating ordeal took half a year from start to finish and more importantly confirmed to me they were selling refurbished products. After, I bought some more dvds. There were no issues so I decided to purchase a $188 combat steel broadsword, the blade of which scuffed considerably, but otherwise poor quality in general and nowhere near worth asking price. Confirming a return this time was easier, but of course I lost money in the process. They didn't actually refund me until I inquired about it four days after tracking said they received the item. In a dying effort to retain my faith with WLE I recently purchased a decorative gourd, something I'd already received once from them with no issues. It arrived today broken on top. The cap that should be there is nowhere to be found inside the gourd or packaging. They just sent it to me like this. To drive my point home, this is after all I'd already mentioned. Safe to say I'm done. I've given these people free advertising for years, both by word of mouth and around the internet. I don't know if there have been changes to the company, or what the situation is, but go somewhere else, go anywhere else.
