Our founder Ralph Pohl began working with CNC Routers in the 1980?s while growing Pohl Industries into a full service fabrication company supplying various industries with custom parts manufactured from all types of woods, plastics, EVA, foam, and aluminum. A perfectionist by nature and a natural tool head, Ralph became hyper knowledgeable about every detail of these industrial machines and their limitless capabilities.
After the sale of Pohl Industries over two decades later, Ralph Pohl was recruited to be the Production Manager for Diversified Machine Systems and relocated from Florida to Colorado. He used his vast knowledge of CNC Routers alongside engineers to develop a brand new line of industrial CNC Routers. The Freedom Machine Tool Line (also known as FMT) was developed and created by Ralph and a team of 4 others, with the purpose of bringing affordable, high quality industrial routers to mainstream industries and niche businesses. In addition to developing the FMT line, Ralph trained and led a team of machine operators to support the FMT machines.
In 2013, Ralph returned to Florida to start PohlCNC and bring together a one stop source for tooling equipment and parts for the FMT from the top manufacturers as well as the high quality Pohl CNC brand of Orthotic Router Bits for CNC machines.
