Does your APPLE iPhone 12 ProMax feel like it's ready to explode or catch on fire? Don't worry, you're not alone! It's no secret to anyone that the iPhone 12 has an inherent design flaw when filming. The phone will auto-dim even when all suggested possible causes are turned off and even after a Digital Firmware Update (DMU). However, once the DMU is done (at the store) and in my case, the level of heat increased dramatically to the level of possible shorting (fire or explosion possible). I attempted to get it swapped nearly six months ago under warranty but was unable to get in line for two hours and had to leave. Fast forward, now the phone is out of warranty and even tho they know and have declared so in writing, the phone is a potential fire hazard, they refuse to exchange it! Their remedy, spend another $600.00 and they will do an exchange (FOR THE VERY SAME MODEL APPLE KNOWS HAS THESE ISSUES). Two days ago, 'Juan' an Apple genius, took my phone into the back room to have a diagnostic check done prior to the DFU. Got it back and the heat was considerably hotter than anytime prior. Today, NO EVIDENCE in store a diagnostic check was done two days prior and was ordered to start my complaint all over again. If that's not F'd-up enough, manager-on duty (Shadi) demanded that I erase the recording IN MY OWN PHONE (video available). That store is a complete Train-Wreck. As I stated before being asked to leave, if the phone blows-up in my hand, I will seek legal counsel. I would urge anyone with a similar complaint to approach The Oaks Apple Store in Thousand Oaks to make their voice heard. Furthermore, manager 'Rick' ... worthless Rick, stated I was not allowed to film or record in the store. When I asked where it mentions that, he stated: "it's on our website". Nonsense! Just another lie from a poorly trained group of employees.
