Kirt Tyson, NMD, CPBN, FAAOPM, is a board-certified naturopathic physician, regenerative medicine doctor, and men’s health specialist who serves as chief medical officer at Balanced Health Medical Center, PLLC, in Washington, D.C. Dr. Tyson is proud to offer a range of innovative medical treatment approaches to help his patients maintain the best possible health. Dr. Tyson completed a bachelor’s degree in biology at Morehouse College in Atlanta. He then earned his doctorate in naturopathic medicine from Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine in Tempe, Arizona. After medical school, Dr. Tyson continued his studies at Cornell University’s T. Colin Campbell Center for Nutrition Studies, where he earned a certificate in plant-based nutrition. He also underwent postdoctoral training in stem cell therapy and interventional pain management. Dr. Tyson’s research and treatment interests include diabetes, cancer, and heart disease prevention and reversal. He’s also interested in complementary medicine and health care policy, and it’s his goal to make effective treatments that promote overall health and well-being widely available. Dr. Tyson is the author of the book “The Raw Truth: The Recipe For Reversing Diabetes,” a guide for people with diabetes to take control of their health. He’s also appeared in the documentary film “Simply Raw: Reversing Diabetes in 30 Days,” which follows six diabetes patients as they treat the disease by following a healthy, plant-based diet.
