I will never take an animal back to Capital. My 2 pound Yorkie needed surgery for a fractured jaw. I consulted with Dr. Darrow who assured me he could do the surgery. Post surgery she came home in severe pain. I mean screaming until she almost passed out, alligator rolling, trying to rip her face off. I was told to hold her to keep her hands away from her face and that she was just not used to the feel of the wire. I called 6 times in the next 48 hours asking for advice and expressing my concern. I was continually told that she can not pull the wire off. She is being dramatic. I asked if I should feel the wire and if her jaw should still move and they said that she was fine. I was told the final time that the Dr doesn't have time to talk to you right now he will contact you within 24 to 48 hours. This was the last straw. l shared the video with someone who got me in touch with the dental specialist. She had to do 3 hours emergency surgery to fix the mess that they made. The picture you see is of the wire when she was put under for the second time. It was in her throat. The roof of her mouth was cut, her tongue and throat bloody and teeth where the wire was to sit were loose or broken so they couldn't be used for anchors anymore. I asked for xrays from Capital and they didn't even do them to make sure everything aligned after surgery. I feel awful that she was suffering and I didn't know. That I held her down and was force feeding her with a syringe and she was choking and in pain. Thankfully this morning after only 10 hours post surgery she was able to eat on her own and is bouncing around the house. A total difference then after our visit at Capital. Now I am out at least another 4000 on top of what I paid to fix a mess they made. I was and am still being dismissed. This is not acceptable. I would be happy to share videos. That I could not post.

We had just moved to this area when our daughters service buddy got sick, as everyone in this situation, your not prepared for this so you scramble trying to locate a good, caring compassionate vet, we ended up at Capital. Your pet is your baby, family right from the beginning, in our case the bond is even closer, Sebastin was our daughters service buddy. We should have picked up on the clues from the beginning and this is something we will have to live with, hopefully our review will help others. Upon arrival the parking lot was overflowing, wait was insane, communication was unbelievable, confusing, trying to understand someone clearly who is talking through a mask to you while your in a parking lot located on a busy highway, clearly is not a good line of communication. The fact that the tech came to our vehicle with our little Sebastin in some kind of wrap around sac gave us concern, her reply was there was no place to put him, our daughter was crying for him as he was trying to get to her. We answered all her questions, gave her all the info that was needed along with info on meds he was on and so forth. Now going forward, and after the fact, as we were looking through Sebastin given records nothing was noted regarding any of Sebastins medical issues or meds that we informed her of, another red flag. But the biggest red flag of all, they ran our credit card charging just a penny this allows them to see what your credit limit is. A credit card company on top of things will notified you within in minutes of a charge like this which is what happened but Capital blew it off as a mistake on their part, now we know they did it to see how much they could charge, Capital is all about $$$$ not the care of your pet. Well its obvious we lost Sebastin or I would not be writing this review to let others know Please by all means go someplace else do not go here. This place is horrible. We were informed Sebastin was very sick, needed an aggressive treatment, they believed he had a chance or they would not suggest this treatment, of course we agreed, but no one disclosed what the treatment was until a tech informed us she had just administered the drug to him, she could not believe it was recommended as it was an aggressive drug used for Chemo. They gave a 4 lb. Yorkie a chemo drug, he never had a chance, they gave him poison. He had a horrible death, the pain he must of encountered, the seizures he was having were all from this drug, from their recommendation/ their care. Each day he got worse, the phone calls in the middle of the night that his levels were up and down, seeing him each day get worse. We went there every day to see him, each day they had to over hear our daughter screaming and crying in the room with him, it was awful. Until we decided to stop this and take him home, let him be comfortable at home until the end, then the staff/ dr. got nasty with us. The tech brought him to us like he was a bag of garbage, she handed him to me, then threw a ragged old blanket at me he must of been laying on. I immediately tossed her blanket aside and wrapped Sebastin in his warm, soft, favorite blanket, I asked for his food that we supplied as he was a picky eater and being on Prednisone and Flagly already from our previous vet, I made his food, but again that was never noted in his chart no where. A blonde woman whom we figure was a nurse, as she never indicated her name, but she was very rude, especially to me, like I did something wrong. She kept saying over and over how she took care of Sebastin but it was quiet clear she never did as she kept calling our Sebastin a girl, if you took care of him you would of known he was a boy. Again, another after the fact, we took his records to other vets, and after speaking with several along with Sebastin missing medical info not recorded, Sebastin could of been saved, the protocol they took was incorrect, they diagnosed him incorrectly. And the drug they gave him was what ended his life. Well it gets worse, we took our baby home, in this horrible box that awful blonde nurse put him in. We took him out of the box to clean him up, give him the respect he deserved for how he helped our daughter. His blanket which they took him away in was not in the box with him, we have not a clue what they did with it. He had dried up food all over his face, head, in his ears, etc where they were force feeding instead of offering the food we supplied, he had dried up poop all over his back, bottom, legs it was horrible, they never cleaned him up, his bottom was bright red, and raw. I tried to put meds on his bottom every time we went there only for them to tell me they already did that or were going to be doing it later, Yet another lie, as there was no evidence at all of any indication of anything ever being put on his bottom but they sure did charge us multiple times for this procedure on our bill. This was our baby, the care they gave to him was inadequate, horrible care. Some of us won't leave love ones alone in hospitals for this same reason it goes the same for our pets as well. The only difference is they can't talk to tell us what happens to them. But in our case unfortunately Sebastin listless body showed it all to us, the care they gave to him was horrible. We were in shock, he deserved better treatment he was an asset to us, he was our daughters service buddy, he had done his duty he deserved to be buried respectfully, All our emotions were high as we washed him, I dried him off, blew dried his beautiful blue /gold hair, wrapped him in his second favorite blanket, we all said our good-byes, even let his own Daddy see him and say goodbye then we laid him to rest in peace. A service buddy deserved more better care, a better chance, he deserved more respect than what Capital gave him, he didn't deserve the lousy treatment they gave to him, he gave so much and in the end he didn't deserve what they did to him. I would not recommend Capital to anyone period ever. The records never indicated his diagnose or treatment plan, they had no record that he had ple, no indication of the meds he was on daily which was Flagyl and Prednisone. When I asked was he getting his meds we were told yes and some others as well due to his levels going up and down. This office is all about $$$. Their charting is incomplete, they are so overbooked, overwhelmed, they don't have the time to actually give your pet the care they need to make it. If your pet is critical or needs medical care please don't take them here go someplace else. Its just like the saying goes no one is going to take care of your loved ones like you, whether they are human or pets. Capital is not the place to get this care, this place is horrible. We would never recommend this place to anyone not even our worse enemy.
