I requested for a move on the 30th of May, for which I was quoted a price of 1400 with a deposit of 500. I was not contacted by the company or the mover by the late afternoon of the 31st of May, despite making more than 15 calls to the agent who initially took my quote.
By the evening of the 31st, one of my calls finally got through, and I was informed that the mover could not show up on time, which put me in a very difficult position as my lease was ending that day. This is despite assurances that the move would happen in the two-day window of the 30th-31st.
After settling the move on short notice, at great expense, with a different moving company, I sought to get my deposit refunded. As before, Certified Moving Solutions continued to be extremely unresponsive, with many emails and most calls being ignored. Of the few calls that went through, the one I had with Amanda, the agent who initially contacted me, had her be extremely rude and curt, and she eventually hung up on me.
The second agent who I got into contact with was significantly more polite, however, he was no more responsive. On at least three occasions, I've been told that I would get a call from some other person at the agency in the next 10 minutes, but no call would come in. Despite being told that he would process my request for a refund within 3 business days (this happened on May 31), it's been over a week and I am once again unable to contact the company.
This entire situation has been stressful, and I am forced to accept the likely possibility that this company is a moving scam, where they take your initial deposit and constantly delay things in hope that you'll give up and go away. Even in the best case scenario where they are a legitimate business, they are extremely unresponsive and unprofessional.
