I can say without a speck of doubt that God loves me because he brought me to meet Dr. Blair all those years ago. Dr. Blair is the most honest person I have ever met. Throughout my life, I have only been associated with enablers of my dysfunction, those that encourage me to continually poison my mind and my soul with sickness and toxicity. Her honesty, therefore, is exceedingly refreshing and reinvigorating because I no longer have to wrestle with my mind to do all the maladaptive behaviors I want to do to run away. She gently challenges me to slow down my speeding mind to stay in the present moment, to feel the reality of the situation and choose what I actually want to do. Dr. Blair has, in this way, empowered me to take charge of my life rather than watch as it slips past me. She has given me the opportunity and the strength to address all the issues and problems that I have never wanted to face or address before, problems that I have only been running away from out of fear. It is her presence in my life, her absolute dedication and devotion, and her complete acceptance of me that have given me the will to push past the barriers and walls that I created to protect myself when I had no one to rely on. She has helped me, slowly but surely, traverse the darkest corners of my mind, retrieve the pain, gain clarity, and rise above all of it to be who I know that I can be. In just the short period of time that I have known her, I have been able to accomplish so much under her care and guidance, propelling myself in a completely different direction in life that I could never imagine before. Much of what I have accomplished so far were things that I considered impossible before. Things that I couldn’t have even fathomed, let alone achieve. Yet I have because of her and only her. Dr. Blair saved me from a meaningless life and gave me the opportunity to earn my place in the world, to earn hope, purpose, and value in what I think, say, and do. Thank you, Dr. Blair, for all that you have done for me.
