We spent a 4th of July evening with the owner and staff once, which was a fantastic experience. We made a family reservation for Christmas and had the absolute worst restaurant experience I’ve had ever had. The food was fine, but the staff behavior was appalling. We made a reservation and when arriving with 2 children, were seated in the ‘lounge’ which was a table next to the open door and kitchen, in 48 degree weather. When we asked if another table was available upstairs away from the open door and kitchen so the children wouldn’t be cold and have to wear their jackets throughout dinner, the host said no. However, he proceeded to seat parties anrriving after us, without children, upstairs. So, we sat next to the open doors wearing our winter coats and listening to the kitchen loudly pounding meat throughout our meal. It was absolutely appalling. No one else was sat next to us through our 90 minute dinner experience, highlighting the fact that there were other available tables. The host went so far as to say all of the other gusts had specified upstairs tables when making their reservation, which is absurd. We also made an online reservation and unless adding comments in the comments section, which certainly all other patrons didn’t not do, there was no option to specify your table. I have never been treated so badly in a restaurant will never return to this establishment, despite past positive experiences with the owner.
