This is a great place to learn about Deaf culture as well as learn American Sign Language. You cannot learn one without the other and my mentor Sander does a great job of combining the two in fun and exciting ways! Like anything in life you get out of it what you put into it so you must practice what you learn from your mentor and ask questions when you don't understand. Sander is great with answering all of my questions and being patient and explaining it in as many different ways as needed until I understand. I'm encouraged and supported in my efforts to immerse myself in the Deaf community through online groups as well as in person groups when available. This program has been so wonderful that when I was laid off of work July 2021, I felt ready and prepared to go to college and study Deaf culture and American Sign Language. I started my first semester of college to get my AA degree January 31st 2022 and it is going wonderfully and I am still doing this program as well.
