Fred Astaire left a lasting impact on the world, and nowhere is that more apparent than in the world of dance. Considered by many to be the greatest dancer of all time, Fred Astaire wanted to establish a chain of dance studios under his name to make sure that his techniques would be preserved and passed on to future generations of dancers. Mr. Astaire was instrumental in the design of the curriculum and the instructional techniques used in the studios that bear his name. With the opening of the first Fred Astaire Studio on Park Avenue in NYC, Fred Astaire shared his immense talents not just through the beloved Hollywood movies in which he starred, but out onto the dance floors of America and the rest of the world. When asked about dancing, Fred Astaire once said, “ I enjoy every minute of it. I am glad that I can now put my knowledge to use in bringing personal confidence and a feeling of achievement to so many people.” Although Mr. Astaire is no longer with us in person, our studios have produced a wealth of amateur and professional dancers who are living embodiments of his style and grace. All Fred Astaire Franchised Dance Studios are required to maintain the highest standards of excellence through our National Dance Board and Fred Astaire Franchised Dance Studios curriculum certifications. This review is long overdue!!! My fiancé and I had decided (extremely last minute) to get some help with our first dance as man and wife. Sevrin and Susannah could not have been more accommodating and supportive! They helped us cram three private lessons into two days! Our wedding dance was exquisite for only having a brief three lessons- and the best part is we had a lot of fun! Sevrin is hilarious !! I think we were laughing almost as much as we were dancing! TJ and I couldn't speak more highly of this dance studio and the wonderful instructors there! They even invited us back after the wedding for a special performance. We had the best expierience at this studio and we are planning on returning at some point in the near future for more lessons!! We came to the studio as they had just opened and with 6 week to go prior to our destination wedding. We met with Susannah and I was comforted that she had a pretty solid plan to get us ready. After our first class I felt better, I felt more confident as every class went on and the end result was GREAT!!! I can't believe how much we learned in such short time frame, our first and second dance turned out beautiful. Sussanah goes above and beyond to develop a routine that we both felt comfortable with....Thank you so much!!!!

My husband has been promising he would take dance lessons with me for years. When we found Fred Astaire Dance Studio, and their lovely studio director, Susannah Moss, it turned a chore/obligation into a fun and enjoyable experience. We both look forward to our sessions, and Susannah's personality blends perfectly with ours. She does not make you feel foolish, dumb, or uncoordinated....instead she teaches us with patience and little tricks that will help us remember our steps when we are practicing outside of our lessons. The studio is beautiful and the energy from both of the owners shows their love and passion for dance. We are so glad we stumbled upon them and encourage anyone who is on the fence about taking lessons, to go ahead and take the step. It is so much fun!!!!

I have been wanted to take lessons for YEARS, so I have been researching studios in the area. The only one in town was in Tysons Corner and I did not want to deal with the drive or the traffic. My latest google search lead me to this studio. So happy! My private dance instructor, Sevrin, is also the business owner. Love him! I am learning the dances I always wanted to learn and, most of all, I have soooooo much fun at every lesson. You have to check it out. It's always amazing with Sevrin!

Where do I even begin? The Reston/Herndon Fred Astaire Dance studio, ran by Sevrin and Susannah, offers the best combination of quality of service and instruction in the N. Virginia area. I have been to a number of studios in the VA/DC area but none compares to these guys. Sevrin and Susannah make you feel like you are part of a group of friends rather than a customer and genuinely care about your goals for achieving any level of dancing that you're looking for. Give them a try and you won't regret it, I promise. Oh yeah, if do decide to come over and join this wonderful studio, I hope to see you at one our Friday get togethers for some fun and dancing...cheers!

My Dad and I decided to take dance lessons for our Father Daughter dance at my wedding. Susannah was very responsive from first inquiry and very friendly. She was able to assess what we were looking for accurately and be prepared at our first lesson with suggestions and a proposal. She was very patient with my Dad and I through the first lesson even though we have limited experience and put my Dad at ease even through all of his nerves. She was also able to motivate him to practice and have him excited to return to our next lesson. We have full confidence in this studio's ability to help us obtain our goals and plan to utilize our newly learned skills on the dance floor soon.

A unique experience unlike any other! Professional caring staff who provide a customized approach to suit the individual (or group) needs. I walked into this place with 2 left feet and with patient coaching, and lots of laughter I can honestly say this is my favorite place to be????

I have been taking lessons with Sevrin for many years and find him very professional and enthusiastic. The emphasis is on fun and enjoyment and the studio itself is wonderful with a great design and lots of light. I highly recommend Dance Studio Reston as a place to learn different styles of ballroom dancing and meet others who are seeking to enhance their lives through dancing.

Sevrin is an amazing dance instructor! The fact he's been dancing since he was 10 years old makes him one of the most professional and sought out dancers. An example is when Hollywood actress Kristy Ally asked him to prepare her for Hollywoods' Dancing With The Stars! Despite his Hollywood connections, Sevrin is such a down to earth guy, makes learning dance routines fun and focuses on your goals. Come join the fun and let Sevrin teach you some moves...you will love it!
