With dedication, style, pride, and passion as a second generation barber, I devote my days to the Art of Barbering. I apprenticed under the instruction of my father. My father opened his barbershop in 1935. Fast forward to the late 70s, when my two older brothers had no desire to learn the trade. I know my father thought no one would carry on his name in barbering. One day I went to work with my dad, and I fell in love with the barber world. Much to my father's surprise, he found himself taking a test to obtain a barber teachers license so he could teach me the trade in the barber shop. In the 80s it was uncommon to be a female licensed barber, a 15 year old licensed barber, and be a father daughter barbershop, but that's what we did, and we rocked it! Sadly my father passed at age 71. He left me too soon; I was 19. I became the sole proprietor of that barber shop and continued on there for the next 20 years. My father taught me well. I respect the trade. I am passionate about it! The ritual of getting a haircut is to be looked forward to.
