Jessica Mascarella is a Speech Language Pathologist with experience working with pediatrics and adults across a variety of settings, primarily the home health setting. She graduated with her Masters Degree from the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, Al in 2009. She moved to the Bay Area of California in 2016 and started a private practice in November of 2017. She holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA), is licensed in the state of CA and is an in-network provider with Kaiser Permanente. She is certified in More Than Words® — The Hanen Program® for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder or Social Communication Difficulties.
Jessica provides individual speech and language therapy sessions to children within their homes. She puts an emphasis on parent/caregiver involvement to ensure progress and individualization of care. She uses a play based therapy model and also includes table time activities to maximize learning within each session. She is also a firm believer success in progressing towards speech and language therapy goals is directly correlated with the amount of organization and flexibility one possesses when working with children, especially children on the Autism Spectrum.
When she is not providing one on one therapy services in the home, she is researching and taking continuing education courses to improve her knowledge. When she is not working, she is hiking, camping, dirt bike riding and snowboarding!
