Lil' Rascals Academy

Ms. Sonia at the Davie location is very unprofessional. She threatens parents publicly and privately based on their financial status and gives special treatment to others. Because I went on vacation with my child for 2 weeks she told me I wasn’t allowed back at her school or any Lil Rascals location ever unless I paid the 2 weeks worth of tuition that my child didn’t attend and then the new weeks worth. So a total of 3 weeks worth. After I was told by her that I could pay weekly and there was no set commitment, just that my child would be unenrolled after a long period of time. I was forced to pay for the weeks my child didn’t attend and the new week only because I had no other school to go to because every surrounding daycare is full. Ms. Sonia also treats employees poorly as well. I’m not surprised they are understaffed because people keep leaving because of her and the lack of training and support. My child has had 11 different teachers in one class this year alone and the classes are out of control so much that kids are getting physically hurt and sick with hand foot and mouth all the time. The teachers rarely speak English as well, they all speak Spanish and cannot communicate with many parents or children. I’ve asked for the simple piece of paper that they offered at the beginning of the tour that states how my child’s day went, what they ate, if they napped, and every day the teacher tells me she doesn’t have one. I complained to the office and Ms. Sonia about it and they tell me they will speak to the teacher to let them know. It never happens - same issue every time with any teacher. They also leave children alone in class rooms for hours because they are so over staffed and poorly trained. I hope more parents report this Davie location because it’s terrible the way they treat employees, parents, and children. On top of all of that, they have this old man bus driver that’s there that has already been accused and caught sexually harassing employees and children of all ages. It has been brought to Ms. Sonia’s attention many times by employees and parents and her response was “I’ll talk to him. He’s harmless.” That alone should tell you that this woman should not be in charge of running the day to day at a childcare facility. Be very cautious before sending your child to this school. What they need to do is find someone who knows what they are doing and cares about the well-being of its employees and children to run that school and not Ms. Sonia. She is a walking lawsuit and danger to all kids.

My daughter is attending Lil Rascals Academy for Vol and she has learned so much in the past 9 months that she will be more than ready for kindergarten this fall.
