I started Lupa K9 because of my love and fascination with the canine-human relationship. I wanted to offer a unique, hands-on training experience to allow owners with dogs that struggle with behavioral issues such as aggression, anxiety, and fear based behaviors to be a part of the training process and see amazing results. Dogs and humans have different communication styles, and my goals as a dog trainer are to help owners learn how to decipher what their dog is communicating to them and how they can communicate in a way that he understands. I?m sure you have heard that the key to any successful relationship is communication. This is sound advice that applies to all types of relationships, including the human-canine relationship. I care deeply about every family I work with because I know first hand how stressful life can be when you have a dog that exhibits unpleasant behaviors. Clear communication and strong leadership are paramount for a sustainable and healthy relationship with your dog.

So happy I found Caroline when I did! We had just moved shortly after adopting a 1.5 year old GSD mix from the shelter and the second "home" sent her into a downward spin. She was barking so furiously all day long that i had received numerous neighbor complaints and one official nose complaint (for barking) from management. To top it off, she became very destructive which added to the stress of the barking. I tried EVERYTHING, had to leave work on several occasions, take days off, etc in hopes to not get an additional complaint and get kicked out of my new apartment after 2 weeks of living there. I tried doggy day care but she was too aggressive, store bought calming aids, vet prescribed anxiety meds, bark collars, extra exercise, chews/toys/puzzles... AND NOTHING WORKED. I almost thought I would either get kicked out of my new home and the idea of possibly having to re-home her crossed my mind for a split second as well. I came across the Lupa K9 website and desperately wrote a "please help me email" to which I received a response that very same night. We were able to get an appointment later that week where we discussed a training game plan and future goals. Caroline shared some tricks with me, that with practice of a few days, made the barking come to a complete halt. After just the first session my dog was not only better behaved, we had crate/anti barking homework, and there was plans to actually move forward in polishing up manners, obedience, and even off leash and recall. My GSD mix now successfully plays off leash, is able to control herself on leash after a lot of impulse control training to not lunge at other dogs, loves her crate and does not bark anymore. She now even travels and flies on airplanes with me and is continuing to be a rockstar. The transformation Caroline has helped us achieve is much more than I could have ever hoped for when I originally had gotten in contact with her. I gladly recommend her to friends and strangers who comment on how well behaved my dog is and am so thankful for the things she has been able to teach me and my dog through our training journey.

Lupa K9- Caroline is a great trainer, she helped me turn my crazy little 2 year old terrier Hadee into a calm and happy dog. Before training she was scared, wild, and aggressive towards any people coming into our house that she didn't live with or see daily. She would bark, herd, and even go in for the attack. But when Caroline came in she changed everything. She trained us to stop Hadee from escalating to far where she is out of control. After 4 session of training, my dog now when the doorbell rings i can place her on her bed and besides a few correction with her shock collar (which Caroline also taught me to use correctly). My dog will now stay on her bed and not make a noise while people walk around and talk. She is a happy dog now and a great family dog.

LupaK9- Caroline - has been a game changer for my beloved staffy Oliver. He was leash aggressive with excitement and nervousness pulsing through him. Caroline - in just 3 sessions - has brought us to a place of being calm and focused. Yesterday i stood in amazement as Oliver ignored a cat and a neighbor nemesis dog (i have never even walked right in front of this house yet we were sitting smack dab 2 feet away from the fence with the car 2 feet away and the dog behind the fence !)- truly a miracle worker ! i have had 3 different trainers who have all helped in certain ways but Caroline has really changed the game and for the first time i can see success and Oliver living a calm balanced life as God intended - thank you LupaK9 so much ! i am excited about the progress and looking forward to bringing Oliver to his full potential !

We had the fortune of meeting Caroline around a year ago. During our time working with Lupa K9, our dog has transformed from 32lbs of frenzied fury to a pooch that's pleasant and well behaved on walks. Prior to working with Caroline, you'd find us walking at odd hours and on odd routes simply to avoid other dog sightings. Now, you'll find us walking calmly and with good manners even in areas thick with dogs (think Tiburon trail, Crissy etc.). Caroline has not only helped show our dog there's another - and better - way, but she's also educated and enlightened us, the humans, too. We're still a work in progress, but Lupa K9 has literally has saved the day (and our sanity). Can't recommend enough!

Since working with Lupa, we've seen some great improvements with our dog. His recall is improved, and he obeys commands better. Mostly, it's gone from our dog walking us, to us walking him.

We had Caroline come to help us with Walter (2 years; 30 lbs) and Hayzel (4 years; 9 lbs). Walter, although lovable at time, was getting to be quite aggressive toward Hayzel as well as other dogs and did not follow commands well. We were at our limit with him. Calling Caroline was a last-ditch attempt before we considered the unthinkable option of getting rid of him. During our initial meet-up with Caroline she observed the behavior and offered helpful advice and techniques. With the introduction of a training collar and some additional sessions we were amazed at the results. Walter had become an almost ?model? dog. He became well-mannered and even more important we were a lot more confident that we were giving him the proper guidance and structure that he not only needed but deserved. Does he still bark at the cat outside? Sometimes yes. However, now we can give a simple correction and he is back ?in line?. And the aggressive tendency that we had before has been virtually eliminated. What is even more surprising were the improvements that Hayzel showed. Some of her ?not so cute? traits are manageable now. We have since added Miss Lucy (10 months; 20 lbs.) to our home and we are using the techniques Caroline showed us in the past. We will probably have to visit her again so she can ?train? my wife and I the proper things to do but it will be worth the time and effort. THANK YOU CAROLINE!!!! You saved Walter and our family.
