The new MDNOW walk-in clinic in Port Charlotte will be subject to a professional complaint by myself. Another low-quality rip-off to be avoided. And I will be naming names. $170 in copays later, I can't get a simple prescription for an inhaler. They prescribed antibiotics that are not needed, another for something that can cause permanent nerve damage, and another for what amounts to an over-the-counter antacid. The genius NP who saw me walked out of the room last night when I questioned the use of antibiotics when I do not have a bacterial infection and was trying to remember if I had a reaction to the antibiotic she was prescribing. She up and walked out rudely, telling me it was 9:00pm, and to let her know which drugs I wished for her to prescribe. It had been mentioned that I needed an inhaler, but she did not prescribe one. Now, today, I tried for 3-1/2 hours to have them prescribe an inhaler. They are refusing, claiming I had declined it last night, so they can't prescribe one now. I absolutely did not decline an inhaler last night, and not only that, but what if I did? I need one and am calling to take care of it. These fools had the nerve to give me some pitiful technical reason for them not to do the right thing. Hey Laurel Ciccarello, NP. Sound about right? Hey MDNOW. You had no time for last night. You made me wait for 3-1/2 hours today only to tell me you won't add a simple inhaler to a prescription. I informed them on the phone that I would go public with the details, but they still refused to prescribe an inhaler when I needed one very badly. I will be posting this as a review on their site, as well as Trip Advisor and every other place that accepts reviews.
