Took my dog in for stomach hardness and discomfort . We had brought another dog we thought to there years ago. Later we found out that it was Sage next door not them. The Dr calls first telling me what she suggests what should be done. Then the receptionist calls with the prices. After gasping at the overinflated charge for xrays, blood work and consultation would be $1,170! I approve it because I want to find out what's wrong. We wait in the car and receive another call stating that they believe they know what the problem is but they need the radiologist to read the xray in the morning and they want to keep my dog overnight. I hang up and the next call was my estimate. They wanted an additional $949. In the morning the Dr suggested even more xrays and an ultrasound which would be an additional $2000 in just diagnostics. I asked if they can at least give her pain medication to make her more comfortable and I was denied because without the additional tests the Dr wasn't comfortable in giving pain medication. I asked if we can just treat her for the obstruction and I was told no unless I let them do the additional diagnostics. What a load of crap. There was no working within my budget like others have reported. It was pay it or we do nothing for you. There was no compassion or caring. It was just matter of fact and pay us first or we won't help you. I signed my dog out against Dr advice and took her to the vet who didn't gouge me for another x-ray. It's one thing if you have insurance and only have to pay a co-pay. No one worries about the cost because whatever it is the insurance pays it. But if you don't you get gouged which is a travesty. If the Dr does recommend surgery she will not go back there but will go to Sage where they care more about you and your animal rather than just getting money.
