If anyone chose to go there, I wish you a good luck! I would NOT recommend anyone to go there! We had a really BAD experience and got trapped. 1. The treatment was processed without my signature on consent of the treatment plan, which was considered as assault. 2. Violation of HIPAA rule - The dentist leaked other patients' confidential information. - Date of Birth, treatment information and statements. The front desk sent me other 3 patients’s statements. 3. Mercer Island Pediatric Dentistry misled and misinformed clients on the treatment cost. The Dentist failed to disclose all the costs. She didn’t make sure patients clearly understand the procedures she is performing and the costs associated with those services. I was not clearly informed of the financial responsibility for services. The dentist failed to offer coordinate insurance benefits, follow through. Some details on our bad experience: Don't trust whatever the front desk manager and the dentist tell you on the cost estimate, because they will only give you some misleading on your payment portion. First, they will say insurance covers most of it, then after treatment, they would let you pay in FULL(100% of the bill). That's a huge difference -- adjustment or pay 100%, it's not called an estimate, it's called assault! That's what happened to us. If your child goes there for teeth cleaning and treatment, please call your insurance company by yourself to verify everything they will do BEFORE your treatment, don't trust the front desk manager, she will NOT check with your insurance company. You are the one who sign and pay, she only asks for checks, not caring about clients! We ended up with paying 100% of the bill out of pocket! We have dental insurance and I don't know what happened between the dentist and insurance company's relationship. We just want to get rid of them, and move on. After we paid off the balance, the front desk didn't even send a receipt until I called in and make sure they process it and sent over to me. Otherwise, they just skipped it. People CANNOT trust them, not recommending anyone to take the risk! * Check the Yelp reviews for more references. Some other clients also had bad experience.

Mercer Island Pediatric Dentistry mislead and misinformed client on the treatment cost. The treatment was processed without my signature on consent of treatment plan. It caused assault!

The front desk should have informed all the cost to clients, and should not have hidden fees. The front office has record shows in its' own system that treatment plan had never printed out and showed to client.

On the treatment day, after the front desk copied my insurance card, and input all my insurance benefits information into the system, the break down details should show accurate cost prior to treatment. They should have let client to make decision if the treatment continues or not. However, they didn't provide accurate information to client, and made client to pay for 100% of the cost afterwards. They just want to gain more the business and don't care about clients. Very commercial!!

Mercer Island Pediatric Dentistry goes after me at the 84th day after the treatment day, and requested me to pay for 100% of the treatment cost.
The Front Desk Receptionist - Emily contacted me over the phone with a very bad attitude, she's even blaming on me. It's extremely unprofessional! She says patient should take all the responsibilities of the payment, the dentist could even refuse any insurance coverage, and have patient to pay for the full amount. She even claimed that she doesn't know much about all the insurance policies, so the office doesn't take any responsibility on the incorrect information. THAT was so wrong!! What's the purpose on checking patient's insurance card? Are they really doing their job? or they are just pretending they are working, but not protecting/caring their patients at all?

Meanwhile, after the treatment, my son complained several times that he felt hurt on the crown tooth, he couldn't eat hot food, every time he eats hot food, get hurt on the crown tooth.

I will never go back to this place, and would not recommend to anyone either, even though the location is so convenient to MI residents. We definitely should have a better and more responsible pediatric dentist in the community!!

I would recommend everyone to read all the bad experience stories before you go in. I don't want to have the same situation happen to my neighbors. We want our kids and ourselves to have a good experience!
