Metropolitan Veterinary Center was established in 2012 by Dr. Kjerstin Jacobs. She founded the practice based on her observation that there was an unmet need for high quality, reasonably priced medical and surgical care for Chicago’s beloved pets, not only on weekdays but on weekends and late evenings as well.
Typical Veterinary practices close early on weekdays, have very abbreviated hours on Saturdays, and are closed on Sundays. This leaves pet owners with the unfortunate options to reschedule their own busy work hours to make an appointment or to take their pet to an expensive emergency clinic after hours. Unfortunately, many “day practices” are unequipped to handle emergencies, and no emergency clinics are equipped to handle preventative medicine, such as wellness visits and vaccines.
Metropolitan Veterinary Center has created a convenient state-of-the-art practice to provide advanced, comprehensive care. We provide essential wellness care, general surgery, and emergency care over an expanded schedule, including early mornings, late evenings, and full services on weekends.
Metropolitan Veterinary Center offers advanced traditional medical and surgical care, as well as holistic therapy including herbal treatments and acupuncture, and progressive therapeutics such as laser therapy. We pride ourselves on going above and beyond industry standards by offering comprehensive medical and surgical care for every stage of your pet’s life. This includes full preventive care, heartworm testing, vaccines, parasite control, senior health screening, spay/neuter, in-house laboratory, dental care, ultrasound exams, digital radiography, pharmacy, soft tissue surgery, emergency medical and surgical care, blood and plasma transfusions, oxygen therapy, and chemotherapy.
We are open from 7am to 10pm every day. Conveniently located in the South Loop of Chicago, easily accessed from the entire city and surrounding areas. We provide complimentary parking in the lot to the north adjacent to our building. Our goal is to provide the BEST service of any Veterinary hospital in Chicago.
