Welcome to Oral Surgery of Riverdale Gabriela Oana, DDS, is a oral surgeon practicing at Oral Surgery of Riverdale, located in the Riverdale neighborhood of the Bronx, New York. Dr. Oana is a graduate of the oral and maxillofacial surgery program at the University of Illinois Medical Center and its affiliated hospitals, including the John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County and the West Side VA Medical Center of Chicago, Illinois. Prior to her surgical residency, she completed a one-year hospital oral and maxillofacial surgery internship at the University of Illinois in Chicago. In 2007, she moved to New York to start her one-year orthognathic surgery fellowship at Lenox Hill Hospital. Dr. Oana was part of an outreach team that traveled through Mexico and Central America to perform cleft repair surgery to residents of rural communities. Dr. Oana's areas of professional interest include office-based dentoalveolar surgery, specifically the extraction of impacted teeth, the placement of dental implants, and minor and complex bone grafts. Dr. Oana holds medical staff privileges at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City. Dr. Oana is a diplomate of the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery (ABOMS). She is a Fellow in the American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery (AAOMS) and the American College of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons (ACOMS). She is a member of the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology (ADSA) as well as several local, national, and international dental associations and groups.
