We found a vehicle we wanted to purchase from this dealership. At the time for talking over the price, we were given a break down of cost as follows; $22,900 car $895 for dealer prep $388 for document processing $498 for NIADA warranty $495 DMV document processing $1510.56 sales tax $125.88 local sale tax The total came out to approximately 26812.44. We asked if they would negotiate on the price and at first they said no so we talked some more and they dropped the price by $200. We said we would think about and left. A few hours later we asked if they would drop atleast $200 more and we could have a deal. Sure they said, just for you we'll drop it another $100. We came back to the dealership and inspected the vehicle. We did not see anything out the ordinary. The car was being sold to us as having been thoroughly inspected with no accidents or major issues. I did a visual inspection of the vehicle and saw nothing standing out that would raise concerns. Test drove the car and nothing knocked or made noise. I am not a mechanic nor did I have the ability to raise the vehilce to inspect underneath. We paid for the car in total and were presented with the sales documents and were told, Everything is exactly as we showed you before. After the purchase I had the car taken to a separate mechanic to check a loose muffler. During their inspection I was told the muffler is loose cause the car had been in a rear collision as well several seals were in need of replacement on the power train. The warranty by the dealership was said to cover any issue on the power train for 30 days as well the NIADA warranty that was listed on the purchase document with the price break down was said to cover seals. I take the car back to the dealership and they confirm it is the seals in question that need to be replace and when I say replace them, Leonardo Braz, the general manager says you didn't purchase the NIADA warranty and our dealership warranty isn't going to cover this. Essentially the discount they gave us was them dropping the NIADA warranty and inspection but not telling us that but selling us on the notion that we were getting that. We were mislead into beilving we were paying for a warranty when that coverage didn't exist. Looking closer at the new purchase documents I saw that the vehicle was sold as follows $22987 car $132 Accessories ??? Never received anthing like this $895 Dealer prep $388 Document fee $495 DMV docs $1464.21 Sales tax $25 local tax 3 things stand out here, the missing NIADA warranty that we were sold on. The local tax is off by about $100 and we paid for accessories of some kind that were not mentioned to us. We are now left to pay for these repairs ourselves and have no idea how bad the accident was. The vehicle was also being sold as a preowned certified vehicle which is suppose to be inspected and if it was then all the issue listed here would have been seen. We still do not have the title.
