In August, I needed to replace my single zone mini ductless system that had been in use for 15 years. My house is an attached brick townhouse built in 1921 in the Bronx. The Richair sales rep Derek came on time for the scheduled appointment and provided in-depth information. The installation was for a 5-zone mini-ductless system. The technicians were professional, personable, and very accommodating. One of the details I was happy with is that the technicians utilized shoe booties inside the house to eliminate tracking dirt and dust. The work was completed within 8 days, and I have to say I am very pleased with the outcome. Their attention to detail and proper installation was outstanding. Once installed, the startup was completed by another technician who was thorough and very detailed oriented. He went through the entire system and explained the use of the remotes and how to get the most out of my system. I know the value of what I received and can attest that Richair lives up to their classification as a Diamond Elite Mitsubishi Contractor. I highly recommend Richair.
The Customer Care team handled my phone call in a friendly and polite manner, initiating the call to alert me to the fact that it was time to schedule an annual maintenance check. Available dates and times were suggested and there was a willingness to adjust the time to accommodate my needs. The Technician could not have been better and I called Richair to express our pleasure in dealing with him before I was approached to write this review. He arrived on time, was extremely courteous, friendly and factitious. He was very sensitive to the fact that an elderly relative was sleeping in the same room where the inspection had to be done, and was mindful not to make any unnecessary noise. He worked with great care and was very thorough and the clean-up was complete. We were completely satisfied with the technician's explanation of the work, both before and after, describing step by step the actions he was taking and the reasons for them in order to check that the system was working properly and the preventive measures taken to ensure that it would continue to serve us well.

I just wanted to drop a note of thanks for all your help in the installation of our new Mitsubishi Ductless Air Conditioner. I have to say, you guys exceeded our expectations. Roman and his team were meticulously clean and professional. They really knew their stuff. One of the reasons I hesitated in buying ductless air conditioning is because I've seen some installations that looked very unappealing. I've seen homes with these thick black insulation lines on the side of the house that detracted from the curb appeal of the home. The PVC covers your team installed matched our siding beautifully and all the lines were installed level and straight. The same is true of the indoor units. We've started using the A/C, and so far so good. The units are whisper quiet and do a great job of cooling our home. This is in stark contrast to our old units that were so loud you couldn't hear the television. I also received the Mitsubishi Warranty certificate today which was another concern of mine (I had a friend who recently discovered that because she didn't register her warranty with the manufacturer within 90 days, instead of getting a 10 year warranty, she is only entitled to a 5 year warranty that has already expired, costing her a lot of money in recent repairs). If the Mitsubishi Ductless A/C system is as great as Richair - we have a winner! Their office staff did an excellent job of arranging installation. Knowledgeable, and beyond accommodating, what superb customer service is all about. Installers did an outstanding job within a short period of time. Got a 6-zone Mitsubishi heat pump system for the whole house. Everyone was very good and professional. The Product Specialist suggested very good system. Installed a Mitsubishi split unit in my backyard with two blowers; one on my ground floor and one on my parlor floor. I contacted them through Angie's list and immediately received a call to discuss my needs and setup an appointment for someone to come here. From that moment forward and throughout the process they were extremely punctual. If they said they would be here at 9AM they showed up at 8:50 and waited until 9 to ring the bell. I worked with Peter, who met with me and my wife to review the various options for cooling the two floors. Peter laid out several options that took into account not only what we wanted but the constraints of the physical space (this is a 148 year old Brownstone), and our budget. The design process went incredibly smoothly. Installation of the Mitsubishi split unit was professionally handled. There was a complete site walk-though including measurements , electrical and wiring, etc. to avoid any surprises. The install team put everything in, set everything up in two days, and cleaned up to the point that you couldn't tell anyone had done any work. Dimitry, the service manager, was great and made sure that I was completely informed of what was going on at every point in time. Kassim was the technician on site post- installation and he worked out every detail, finding solutions to minor glitches that came up with the wireless thermostats. There was an issue with the wireless thermostat that required contacting the manufacturer; they installed a temporary wired thermostat while that was being worked out so I had no disruption in A/C availability during what was a very hot summer. The equipment is everything they said it would be. The blowers are so quiet you hardly even know they are on. Even the Mitsubishi split unit itself in the backyard makes almost no noise at all. I have done two brownstone renovations before and all I can say is I wish every experience I have with a contractor could be this perfect. These folks are totally professional; they deliver exactly what they say they will, and they do it on-time and on-budget. And they clean up after themselves. They even swept my patio and left it cleaner than they found it. I recommend them 100% if you need a Mitsubishi split unit for your home.

Richair installed a mini-split heater/air conditioner in a room with inadequate heat. Fantastic company - knowledgeable, communicative, prompt, honest, competitive! I can't say enough good things about my experience with them. After being told by many hvac people that there was no good solution to heating a problem room, I learned about mini-splits and then researched installers. Picked this company because of good reviews on Angie's list (the reviews were for their long island, NY location but they are also in NJ). The salesman, Gregg, was so nice, came the day I called, agreed to install it very quickly (around Christmas), gave me a very clear estimate, told me about substantial rebates from PSEG (because of the energy efficiency of the unit) and helped fill out the paper work and most importantly worked with the very difficult building inspection office in my town. He oversaw that the work was done properly. Other HVAC contractors I saw were misinformed about the product and how it could be installed, gave me higher estimates and were just typically and generally vague about a number of things.
Richair installed a mini-split ductless AC system in my living room. They were professional, polite, and punctual. Salesman came and did not push me to buy a system that I did not need. Installers came and they also worked out schedule with my electrician (much appreciated). Few days later, they came back to start up system and make sure it all worked well. I could not be happier. They did a great job. The representative came to my home and explained all of my options for a mini-split AC system. I thought I would need a much bigger and more expensive system. He said no. He was telling me what was best for me as opposed to what other reps were doing?selling me what was best for them. I was very impressed with the professionalism, politeness, experience, and knowledge of the rep, the installers, and the technician that came to start the system. He even later sent me the rebate forms and how to fill them in so that I could get a $400 rebate from Con Edison. By the way, this company is also authorized to install certain AC systems that qualify for this rebate. Warning: Not all companies are authorized by Con Edison but may still tell you they are. Check out Con Edison?s website. The installers came and took the time to explain how they will position and install the unit and why. They even measured the distance of the outside unit on the corners to ensure it was perfectly straight and secure. Before they left, they cleaned up and put everything back in order. The next business day, they sent a the technician to start the system up. He explained everything to me, including setting the time on the remote to explaining the unit's features and how to clean the filters. Every person I encountered with from this company was knowledgeable, polite, professional, and experienced. I would without hesitation recommend this company to others. I would definitely use this company again for any HVAC related issues.
Rich Air installed a split air conditioner in three bed rooms a year ago. Two rooms had 6000 BTU's and the 3rd had 9000 BTU's. I was offered Panasonic units for about $1000 less, but opted for Mitsubishi as they offer a 7 year warranty. The workers are clean cut and very respectful. I was amazed that they went above and beyond what I expected. Workers put down plastic all over the house even in areas I did not think was needed. The service this company offers I think of 5th Av. No hidden costs and no pressure. Workers cleaned up after themselves. I am really amazed at how everything was done correctly. I always expect contractors to cut corners but not Rich Air. They did everything correctly.
Had Mitsubishi mini-split a/c system installed throughout the house in summer of 2011 - three bedrooms, living room, and kitchen/dining area. Two outdoor units with exterior lines, drains and covers installed. Greg, the project consultant/manager, designed an efficient and cost effective Mitsubishi (the highest rated and most reliable brand) mini-split a/c system to replace our wall/window units. He worked with us on our budget and even used some of our ideas for the design. He was courteous and addressed any concerns or questions. He checked-in on the installers and was always available. Alex, the lead installer, communicated with us during the work. He had a full crew who worked efficiently and clean. The contents and floors of the house were covered during the work and picked-up at the end of the day. All exterior work was also done with care and expertise. Kassim, the service tech, got the system up and running. He went over the system and the controls with each member of our family (four of us). He told us everything we needed to know about its use and maintenance. He was great! We highly recommend this company
Richair installed 2 split-ductless a/c units during townhouse renovation a few years back. We called 2 other HVAC contractors prior to Richair. When we described the project on the phone, we were told that it would cost $10,000-12,000 to do the project and options were not raised... When we called Richair and spoke to Fred, he said there were different options we could consider. He came to our house and said that we could get by with 2 units, as long as we were willing to keep the door open to a small room in the center of the apartment. He also offered us as a $1000 discount on a Sanyo compressor paired with Panasonic blower units. He said Panasonic had taken over Sanyo and would eventually change the labeling on future compressors. The installers were competent, professional and clean. The system works very well and is more than adequate to cool the apartment.
Richair stands behind its products. My system is more than 5 years old and I get it serviced every year. Kassim is a master technician, and my A/C worked well throughout the most hot and humid days this summer.
We used Richair Comfort Solutions for air conditioning repair. The first time there was a little bit of problem and they didn't get it fixed, but they came back and did get it sorted out very quickly and didn't charge us. They were very responsive and very good. I would recommend them.

I went to the Richair's office to inquire about the installation of 2 mini-split air conditioners. I talk to a gentleman who was extremely courteous and very informative. By the end of the information session, I was pretty much sold in hiring this company to perform the installation. However, later on I realized that I was in the middle of a refinance and could not afford to not have my refinance done because purchasing the ACs and doing the installation might affect my income to debt ratio. So at the end I decided not to follow through with hiring Richair. But they were extremely helpful in providing me the information needed to select the best products and services for my situation. They very much made me feel at ease with how the installation would go and how long it would take. They walked me through the different options available to me as far as mini-split units and even recommended a particular unit based on my very unique air conditioning needs. I am one of those who complain about the lack of quality in service and poor personal relationships with customers associated with big companies. Talking to Richair's representative made me feel like we were family and it was very personable; and that is why I tend to give my business to small businesses where the attention and treatment is better. I would definitely recommend Richair for something as serious as installing ductless mini-splits where anything can go wrong if not done correctly.
Richair cleaned 8 ductless indoor air conditioner units and 2 outdoor. I have a townhouse in Manhattan with a Mitsubishi Mr. Slim outdoor/6 indoor ductless mini split system upstairs and a Friedrich outdoor/2 indoor on the garden floor. I emailed Richair after seeing them on Angie's List. They emailed me back and sent me a price for cleaning/disinfecting, etc. We have had a lot of construction in the area and I thought some of the blowers also might need cleaning. They were up front and quoted me an additional cost if that was needed (the blowers are very difficult to get to and clean, so I was not surprised). Isaac showed up on time and spent a little over 4 hours cleaning the 8 units. Mr. Slim are not the easiest units and he clearly knew what he was doing as he took them apart. He put plastic down, took pictures off the wall so as not to damage anything, took apart each unit, cleaned, disinfected, checked whatever he needed to check, and put everything back. He answered all my questions and was quiet enough that I could still get work done. I had this done the previous year by another company who were much more expensive and messier. I am glad I found Richair through Angie's List and plan on using them on an annual basis for my air-conditioner maintenance.
Rich Air installed multi-ductless split air conditioning unit. Peter was great. He was responsive from the first call and very flexible and accommodating re: weekend estimate appointment. We ended up letting several months pass after the initial consultation, but when we restarted the process, he was just as helpful and attentive as before. Once we determined the size of the unit needed for my place, Peter was very creative and helpful in assessing where the unit should be placed and where on the roof the external unit could (relative to co-op constraints) be placed. The actual AC unit in the apartment and the lines from the roof unit to the apartment were installed in a day, and the guys that did the work were very polite and good about cleaning up after themselves. Once everything was installed, there was Isak, who came on another day and purged the lines of air and did the initial start up. He was very good about explaining the controls and particulars of the unit and also very courteous and professional. All in all, a great experience. If you are looking to install a multi-duct AC unit (something that is common in many international countries, yet rare here in the States and NYC), these are the guys!
Richair Comfort Solutions came out for a diagnosis of my Fujitsu ductless air conditioner. They gave me an estimate to replace it with Mitsubishi. After my appointment, there was some confusion about a bill. We were told we wouldn't be charged for the appointment since they really couldn't diagnose or remedy the problem (not really their fault - my air conditioner units are out of circulation so no replacement parts available). Afterwards, due to an apparent paperwork mix-up, we were sent a bill. Yes, we were confused and a little frustrated, but Richair eventually did the right thing and did not charge us. So when all was said and done, it was handled well. Aside from that, their technician was knowledgeable and did all he could to help solve the problem. We had other people out previously trying to figure it out and they couldn't. I'd say Richair tried a little harder, going so far as to call Fujitsu for an answer.
They installed ductless air conditioning. It worked out well. There was a glitch in the beginning but after they fixed it everything has been wonderful. The technician worked very hard to fix the problem on one of the hottest days of the summer. They were very clean and their price was good. The town also gave them issues about some of the wiring and their project manager was very responsive. The town ended up approving everything that was done after they were provided with documentation from the manufacturer.
Installed two ductless AC units in my apartment. These guys were truly exceptional. From beginning to end, everyone from the rep to the installation technicians were consummate professionals, providing me an estimate for two cooling units for my apartment, walking me through the process of what I could expect from them and what I needed to do, performing quick and clean one-day installation, and then even filling out the paperwork to get my $1000 energy credit back from ConEd. Here's where you know you're dealing with professionals: After everything was installed, I wanted to register everything for the manufacturer warranty, and as I was gathering the serial number for all four units (I had a 9000 BTU and 12000 BTU unit installed in my bedroom and living room respectively, along with the corresponding outdoor units), I noticed that the technicians mistakenly hooked up the 9000 BTU outdoor cooling unit with the 12000 BTU indoor unit. I contacted the rep, Peter M. and you know what he did? He called me back the same day, verified that this was indeed done, admitted the mistake, apologized for it and immediately corrected the error by having technicians come out the next day to swap the units. The technicians who showed up to correct the error, echoed Peter's apology, explained this rarely happens, and swiftly went to work. Any business can screw up from time to time, but it's how the mistake is dealt with and responded to that gives you a clue into a business' professionalism, competence, and dedication to customer service. What they did was textbook, excellent customer care. I think every consumer is hardwired to shop for the best deal; I call it the Walmart syndrome. Buy something as cheaply as possible. For certain items this certainly applies, but with sizable investments like split-type AC units, Richair Comfort solutions embodies the old adage "you get what you pay for". And what you get is top quality Mitsubishi product with caring and knowledgeable professionals.
Installed 2 Mitsubishi indoor units 9,000 and 12,000 btu and two zone Outdoor Heat Pump Unit. From day one our experience with Richair has been outstanding. After receiving 4 estimates, Richair' was the best and the professionalism of the sales team reinforced our decision. After signing the contract we had some delay in getting approvals from our building. Richair did what they could to assist in the process and patiently waited as we attained the approval. The installation team was excellent and very professional. The workmanship was very outstanding, in fact my electrician went out of his way to praise the way they did the job. Of special note, I had hoped to put the outdoor unit further away from the building, off my wood deck. Richair reviewed this and while they said they could do it and it would be more money, due to the additional coolant and piping, they strongly recommended that we not do it as it would make the units less efficient. Richair installed Mitsubishi 24000 BTU ductless a/c and heating system. The initial estimate went very well. Peter from Richair, came to our home, explained how the system worked and the installation process. He made suggestions as to size and placement of system, both inside and outside. With great patience, Peter took his time and answered all our questions and concerns. Peter was very professional and extremely knowledgeable. When he left we felt confident that we had made the right decision in hiring Richair Comfort Solutions. The installation by Paulo and Emir went very smoothly. You could tell that the installers were knowledgeable and experienced. They were punctual, courteous and efficient. The installation was a two step process (since we were still doing construction on the basement and had to run the electrical line for the unit). During the last visit, after the system was connected, purged and checked, for quality installation, we were instructed on how to use the new system. The customer care team Demetri, the Service Manager and Amanda were also very knowledgeable and responded to our calls promptly and courteously. All facets of our experience with Richair Comfort Solutions were very positive and met our expectations.
Pavel was clear, efficient, and explained/illustrated the problem with the unit that wasn't working was due to dust and mold in the blower. The other two units probably have the same problem but they are working fine right now and the
price is VERY high so we will have to call again if we have problems with the other two. I'm not sure why the units should have mold, but when Pavel showed me the blower it was clear he was right! Good workman. He was fast, friendly, thorough!
Richair did routine service on my systems. The technicians were great to work with and are very knowledgeable. They were very accurate and efficient during the appointment. They did a great job in scoping out the job and tried to do everything within my budget. I find them very easy to deal with and they were very helpful.
Richair installed a split air conditioning system. They were very professional, were able to come out to give an estimate beforehand and assessed my house. Sales person gave us various options for AC units with separate quotes. Installers were very prompt coming to the appointment and made arrangements with the electrician for us as well, cleaned up well after themselves and it was a great experience.
They put in a split air conditioner and heater system. I have used them for three years now. My experience has been great and their prices are comparable. They were neat, clean and did everything in a reasonable time. I had an issue with them after the work was done and they addressed my concerns immediately, they were fantastic. I have recommended them to others.
Organized, prompt, courteous installation of a split unit in a basement. One thing was not done like I had asked, but when I called after the installation, they immediately dispatched someone to rectify the situation. The unit I purchased was a bit overkill for the basement, I could hang meat in this place.
Our experience with Richair has been overwhelmingly positive, starting with the excellent service we received from their very personable sales rep, Peter M. We're very satisfied with both the product and the service, to the point that we recently returned to them for some more HVAC work we needed done, and would do so again in the future.
I only have two complaints; one, it took several weeks to get our ductless units installed initially, although this is forgivable because it was high season; and two, we recently had a service technician come to our home who was surly, rude, and unhelpful (although he did fix the issue we were having).
Richair installed two dual system compressors with 5 air handlers on 2 stories of our private home several years ago. They recently had an offer to have the air handlers cleaned and the compressors checked, which I accepted. Thery arrived on time, were very polite, efficient and thorough, identifying a buldup of dust on the blower wheel of two of the air handlers. Although this was not covered under the offer, they instructed me on the proper filter cleaning schedule and how to do it. They also offered to come back to clean the blower wheels for an additional fee but also offered to explain how to do it myself, which I latter did. I have only had good experiances with this company and all of their staff.
I dealt with Alan, Peter, Alex and two installers, Alex (electrician), and a gentleman who started up our unit. It took a few visits from the sales and install team to get the layout correct, but it worked out well. The contracting was pretty straightforward and clear. Alex the installation manager knows his stuff and gets the job done. The installers were neat, clean and professional. When they were done, it was neat and clean. They provided an electrician (also Alex) who was an honest guy, and worked hard. I thought I got value for what I paid him. The startup tech was also knowledgeable and pleasant. Overall a good contractor experience, especially why dealing with holes drilled through to the exterior of your home. It looks good, inside and out.
I had recently received an estimate for a multi-room system when my current one-from Mitsubishi system died after 17 years. I contacted them on a Sunday and they immediately provided an estimate, and got the ball rolling. My new system was installed that Wednesday. Everyone I dealt with was helpful and efficient and Richair's prices were about 20% lower than the other estimate I received. I would certainly use them again.
Richair installed split ductless hvac system in 3 rooms in Manhattan. Workers were prompt, communicative, helpful and very professional. The job was excellent and we are very happy. I would recommend them to anyone who needed a ductless system installed.
They installed a 19K SANYO Flexi-multi outdoor unit and two SANYO fexi-multi indoor units about 4 years ago, a great split system for two rooms. The system replaced two through the window air conditioners. Their salesmen are very knowledgeable, had great suggestions about how and where the units should be installed. The installers worked professionally, tested the system to make sure that the system worked perfectly, and we understood its operation before they left. We also were given help obtaining Con Ed. rebate of $400.00. We have four more rooms to air condition in the same way, and when we're ready, they're the ones to call.

We had a problem with our air conditioner and they fixed it. I was very pleased with every aspect of the service I received. My only hesitation is that they also sold me an annual maintenance plan that I don't think I really needed and I cancelled it after the first year. But other than that I was very satisfied.
Richair installed Mitsubishi ductless unit. One air handler, one compressor attached to outside wall. Very punctual, stayed in good communication. Were excellent at thinking through the options for how and where to install the unit for our space. Everything went smoothly and unit is working great. They did excellent work and I would use them again. There was a fair amount of mopping and cleaning to do afterwards to get things back to the way they were before the installation. I'll save a straight 5-star review for the people who leave things as clean as when they arrived. So far that's never happened.
It went great!! They sent someone to give the estimates. They helped us stay within our budget yet we got the most appropriate units for our home. The actual installation took two days just like they said. They were fast yet did everything properly and cleaned up all the mess that was made. I would highly recommend their services. They also did all the paperwork to help me get a rebate from Con Edison, I only had to sign and mail it!!
Installed a 3 zone Mitsubishi ductless split system in my Brooklyn apartment. The installation associates were punctual, kept things clean, and overall took pride in the installation. The entire process took about 4 days, but the project manager walked me through each step of the process, and listened to my feedback

The work was done in a timely and professional way. The crew took care to cover the furniture and flooring when working in the house and cleaned up when done. I was shown how to use the remotes and told how to clean the units. Everything is working great.
Installed two compressors and 5 ductless units in my townhouse. They were very knowledgeable, responsive and easy to work with throughout the entire process. One of their salesman met with us on site many times and was always available if we had any questions. He also went over the best locations for all of the units, how many BTUs each unit should be, where the compressors should be placed, and what our electrician had to do. Very thorough overall. When our place was finally ready to have the units installed it was the in the middle of the summer, which is their busiest season. They originally told me they wouldn't be able to do the installation until September, but out of the blue they were able to fit us in at the start of August. The units themselves are great, easily cooled our place in the summer, and are extremely quiet. We have even turned the heating feature on a few times in the winter for additional heat

They did very good job, from the beginning to the end everyone was attentive to details, and customer oriented (a rare thing these days). I hoped they could install the new system faster, but they delayed the job, said the permit was not ready. I am not sure was it the permit, or their schedule. Nonetheless, the quality is great, plus they included 10 years warranty. Great value! Highly recommend to all.
I have nothing but great things to say about Richair. From the moment I made the service appointment with Amanda who was very polite and helpful to the technician Shamil, who was able to fix my boiler in under three hours when two other companies took days to try and diagnose and fix but ultimately failed and gave up on. Shamil took the time to explain to me what the issues were and when possible showed me the parts that were corroded and why they needed to be replaced. He also explained an issue that he sees forming and will need to be addressed in the near future and offered up solutions for how to make it a less expensive repair. Richair clearly knows what they are doing when it comes to customer service as well as mechanical repair. After several experiences with naysayers who just wanted to sell me a brand new unit instead of rolling up their sleeves and fixing the issues I am incredibly happy to have finally found a company of very competent people who I can trust and who are extremely considerate and go above and beyond others.
