Xenophon Zapis, a local resident, attorney, and business owner opened Rockport in 1995 so area seniors could have an affordable alternative to living alone. His daughter, Donna Zapis (also a local resident) assumed the day-to-day operations in 1997 when she graduated from Cleveland Marshall College of Law and continues to manage Rockport today. The Zapis family also owned and operated a sister community in Rocky River, The Harbor Court, through 2012. Having raised their families in Rocky River, the Zapis family has a history within the community and are happy to add another independent and assisted living community in this beautiful city.
We started as a senior living community, but as the residents aged, it became apparent that extra care was needed. Since February of 2009, we are a licensed residential care facility offering our residents independent living, assisted living, memory care and elder daycare options at an affordable price. This allows our residents to age in place, as customized assistance can be added without having to move to another community. They can stay in their new home, with their new family, and never have to move again.
We offer a variety of private and spacious suites and an array of services to give our residents a comfortable, carefree lifestyle. We do the cooking, cleaning, and laundry, while you take up a new hobby or participate in one of our many clubs or special interest groups.
