Storm Guardian Generator in Austin is a certified Generac dealer and installer responsible for repairs, maintenance, and extended warranties for Generac generators. I bought a 26kw Generac generator from Lowes on 2/25/23, and Lowes contracted Storm Guardian Generator as their third-party vendor for installation. After paying around $16,000, Lowes handed the contract to Storm Guardian Generator to complete the installation, issue the extended warranty, and provide maintenance services. I contacted Isla from Storm Guardian Generator, who confirmed our eligibility for a 10-year extended warranty after installation. She assured us that they would handle future servicing and repairs. However, Storm Guardian Generator didn't fulfill their obligations, leading us to file a complaint with Lowes due to damage caused to our sprinkler pipes. In response, Isla and her husband Jacob retaliated against us by denying us the services and warranty we agreed upon with Lowes. This violates our contract, jeopardizing the generator's functionality and the purpose of our purchase, which included a 10-year extended warranty. We are filing a complaint because Storm Guardian Generator refuses to repair the broken sprinkler pipes, forcing us to hire another company at our expense. They also falsely claim that Generac is responsible for the extended warranty, but Generac confirmed that it is the installer's responsibility. Isla and Jacob's unprofessional and unreliable behavior is not only concerning for us but also impacts others in the community relying on Generac generators for power security.

UPDATE: Zach Boegler, the owner of Storm Guardian Generators, called to gas light me and the situation. He reports that the only conversations that were documented or recorded by him and his employees are the ones that conveniently fit his narrative. He attempts to explain the situation as told in reverse with the story written to the company's narrative. Still do not have a fully functioning system despite their claim that it is. GO ANYWHERE ELSE IF YOU WANT THE JOB FINISHED. First, let’s start with our customer service. They lack integrity, they promised to complete a job, accept payment, then, when you expect them to complete the job, they tell you that you need to contact the manufacturer for the parts that were never installed therefore, making it no longer their problem. As far as installation times 4 to 6 months became well over a year.

For three weeks now we have been trying to get this generator installed properly. We waited an entire year for it to arrive and it looks like it might take another year to get it installed properly. We have now had to have our AC people come out twice. The first time SGG insisted everything was fine and that it was an AC problem. The first time they installed and then tested the unit which involved them turning the unit on. It came on and they said it works and we checked to see if the AC was on and it wasn't and we told the guy and he said it takes 5-10 minutes to come on so they left. But it wasn't working and when he left the AC never came on so when I called SGG and they insisted it was an AC problem. The AC guy said there was nothing wrong with the AC and that it was not receiving power from the generator. Again I called and they said to call the AC people because we got an error message on the thermostat which has never happened prior to the generator being installed and SGG didn't know what it meant. At the same time SGG sent another guy who determined that they forgot to turn a switch on. And the AC guy was here at the same time and went up in the attic and found that when the heat is on the gas pressure to the furnace was 8 times what it should be and he had never seen pressure that high ever and determined that again it had nothing to do with the AC. I am not sure why when the unit was tested that they did not do a thorough job and why they left so fast. Also what would have happened if we hadn't tested it ourselves for heat? We wouldn't be turning heat on till November. It could potentially do damage to our furnace. It was SGGs responsibility to test and ensure that the unit was working properly. I have been very disappointed in the care we have received from the start. The first electricians came out and said they couldn't get through the attic after they put a hole in the soffit. I would think you would go up in the attic first before putting a hole in the soffit. So now we have a patch on it. Then the sales guy came out and said they would have to bury the conduit and bring it around the flower bed and up the wall. The second set of guys came out and told us they couldn't do it where he said because the awning was in the way. That caused us to spend $350 to have the awning taken down and put back up and we removed the bricks that we had for edging and some of the plants which are now dead so they could bury the conduit. This was totally unnecessary because the next set of guys came and did not bury it, but attached it to the wall and managed to get it through the attic, but not where we were originally told it would go where it would have been much less noticeable. When I called and said there was a gas smell, I was told, "Oh you'll smell a little gas once in a while." And, "the gas passed inspection." It was only after I insisted that it was constant did they send someone back out to check it and indeed it was leaking. I have spent almost three weeks now waiting for people to show up because there is no time range that they give out and I am very frustrated. Today again I am waiting for the plumber to come to fix an issue that should have been dealt with the first time they came. In total, it has now cost us nearly $500 dollars more for the awning and two AC visits and the job is still not completed. All because of the lack of communication between the sales person and the workers who did not properly ensure that the unit was working correctly. I have also contacted the sales person several times and the last time was yesterday when he immediately told me he was "busy working in the office." And that I was creating an extra step by contacting him and I should deal directly with the office. I guess once he sold us the unit he was done with making sure the job was done right. He also spoke to my AC guy who explained his concerns about the gas pressure being so high and was rude to him as well. I would avoid this company completely. I am not happy about having 8x as much gas going to my furnace at this time and the sales people need some customer service lessons in how not to be rude to clients.

$20,000.00 POS Generac they CAN NOT get to work. September 21' when the power went out it wouldn't come on. They couldn't fix it. They failed in their attempts in October, they failed again several times in November, December they said it was fixed. January it was still broken, it's February and it still does not work...
