Beware there is a reason why their insurance is so cheap. I once tried to get my sister to switch to TD because i was impressed with how cheap it was compared to other companies. She told me no, she didnt trust them. I was confused, surely a large company like this could be trusted no? Here is my story.
I had two vehicles financed with TD auto finance and had TD insurance as well. It is my understanding that financed vehicles required full coverage. In fact my sister paid off her jeep recently so sbe wanted to reduce her insurance cost by removing collision. The company refused and demanded she provide proof that the vehicle was in fact paid off. Shes been paying full coverage for months for nothing because she could not provide them this info.
So as i said i has two financed vehilcles and after i broke up with my girlfriend money has been tight so i decided to take my car off the road..TD insurance told me because it was financed i needed to pay something called parking insurance, they would not let me go uninsured. Makes sense right. So i paid parking insurance for a whole year.
Recently i got into a accident and i totalled my truck. When i called to file a claim, they told me i didnt have collision on my financed truck. The woman was cold as ice and took pleasure as she informed me that my life was now over.
i told them this is impossible that this makes no sense my truck was financed. Someone made a mistake. I asked for them to review the recordings of my calls. And they concluded i had asked for collision to be removed. Why would i pay parking insurance on my car for a whole year for nothing while having no collision coverage on my truck.
This is a criminal organization. I am now losing about 28,000$ now. My life is over. I need a vehicle to travel out of town for work. I no longer have the car either. I am going to lose my job, my house. Everything my life is over.
DO NOT trust TD insurance they are a criminal organization. I hope my experience helps whomever is reading this.
