Do yourself a favor and rent elsewhere, also make sure that Landmark Properties is not the property management company. My son's apartment got flooded within a few days from moving in, due to some building issue. The ceiling was damaged, water got on his furniture and electronics. The property management ignored his requests for repairs, allegedly due to a contractors shortage. He asked for a rent concession due to him having to live with the damage, or to terminate the lease, but they refused both and he was stuck in their abusive contract for the entire one year term. The property management ended up repairing the ceiling a year later when obviously they needed the apartment to be rentable for the next tenant. Other than that, there was the issue of people screaming on the hallways at night, people gaining unauthorized access into the building, and a shooting inside one of the units which apparently was broken in. Some things can be controlled, others not, and you've got to feel bad for property managers of student housing who have to deal on regular basis with young people partying and such, but these guys dropped the ball in our situation which could have easily been addressed ethically, if they cared to. As a real estate professional, I've worked with landlords, tenants and property managers for 2 decades and have seen all sorts of issues, but never have I encountered a landlord/property management company that was anywhere nearly as problematic as this one.
