We invite parents to accompany their children during their first visit to our office. After your first visit to The Smiley Tooth we request your help in obtaining the trust of your child. This trust is expressed by you, the parent, by remaining in the waiting room during your child's subsequent appointments. Of course, you are always welcome to accompany your child into the room if you wish to do so.
Our office, as well as the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, recommends that your child visit the dentist within 6 months from the eruption of their first tooth or when your child turns 12 months of age, whichever occurs first. The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry also recommends that your child see the dentist every 6 months for a dental exam, cleaning, and x-rays to maintain good oral health. Preventive oral care is the key to a healthy smile.
