I started working here shortly after I graduated high school back in 2019. I absolutely love being around children and I love to watch them grow and learn new things, so I thought working at this daycare facility would be an enjoyable place to work. I couldn't have been more wrong. I worked as a floater/lunch relief/closer for roughly 8 months and was never given opportunities to advance up. I showed up and did what I was told and I rarely complained about anything they made me do. However, I don't know if it was because I was 18 years old at the time and I came from a not so greatly represented generation, and was probably the youngest person working in the facility, but I got treated a lot differently by management than everyone else. I can tell when someone is being fake nice to me and it felt like every single person in management was acting like that towards me. They didn't care about me at all. In fact I was practically invisible to them up until I placed my two weeks. It wasn't until then that they started to care about me. That's when they offered me a lead teacher position, but even if I did take it, nothing would change. I'd just go back to being one of their little puppets they can't remember the name of. So I stayed and finished my two weeks with the same energy I've always had because even though I was upset with them, I didn't want to lower myself down to their level by lowering my working capabilities. After completely my two weeks, I joined another local daycare team shortly after. Time goes by and tax season came around. I was expecting to get my W-2 from them in the mail...It's May 12, 2021 and I'M STILL WAITING! Tax season ends in less than 5 days and I haven't been able to file my taxes because they won't give me my W-2. I called them back in March and they told me they haven't received them yet and they'd contact me when they'd arrive... I never got a call back. I called back again and was told that I need to talk to this specific person in charge of the forms but she wasn't in that day so I had to call them back another day. So I called back a day or two later, but nobody answered my calls. I called 3 times that day and not a single person came to the phone to answer. I called again a few days later and was able to get a hold of the person "in charge" of forms. She told me she doesn't handle that kind of information anymore and told me to email this other person. As soon as I finished my call with them, I sent an email to this new person who is supposedly in charge of the W-2s. I never got a response back. At this point I'm starting to get angry and frustrated and panicked because I have a week to file my taxes and no W-2 to submit. So this past Monday I went to go see them in person after my day at work. I explained the situation to the lady at the front desk and she went to go talk to a director about it. Minutes passed and she returned saying they can't help me because the person in charge of them isn't in anymore and they left early this afternoon. They told me she'd be there the next day from 5am-9am. I currently live in Pembroke, KY and I start work at 7am. It was a very big inconvenience for me to have to wake up almost an hour earlier than usual just to go deal with a problem that shouldn't even be happening. Keep in mind, I'm not at all a morning person so I already wasn't too thrilled about having to wake up before dawn just to "maybe" get this resolved. I get there around 6:15am and met up with the person I needed to talk to and with a bit of attitude she said to me, "I talked to you the other day on the phone, right? I already told you I don't handle them anymore. I get you're frustrated but there is nothing I can do for you here." Infuriated by the entire situation I just walked out without saying a word. I have never been treated with such disrespect nor have I dealt with this amount of unprofessionalism in all aspects. They don't care about anyone but themselves and their money, and it's sickening. If you want to work or even have your child be in an environment where you're silently but heavily judged by your appearance and background by every director in management, walked all over because you're lower and less experienced than then, mistreated, disrespected and stereotyped because of your age and education, then this is the daycare for you. But if you care about your well being and mental health, I'd suggest working elsewhere.
