The funeral of my husband, W. Alan Canty, was held at Verheyden in Grosse Pointe Park. I arrived 90 minutes early to make my request clear - I did NOT want the press allowed inside. They ignored my repeatedly-expressed request. Not only was the media allowed inside with their cameras and lights, but the evening news showed participants leaving. I believe they did this for their publicity at my expense.
