This company and her husband who is not a certified accountant Wilson Esua scammed me and 3 other small businesses out of almost 10k EACH and will not refund

I cannot overstate how unpleasant my experience with Wilson Esua has been. When I had questions, it seemed impossible to get in touch with Wilson. It took getting my husband to call in order for him to call us back. Honestly, that sort of disrespect alone is enough for me to recommend that anyone look elsewhere for a business relationship, but especially women who have better things to do than ask a man to make a phone call for them. Unfortunately, that hasn't been the worst of it. When we did speak, the tone of our interactions was condescending and handwavy. Back in April, there were a lot of niceties and reassurances about how the "hard part" is already done. In July, I was told I shouldn't worry, everything will be done any day now, and he's just going to follow up with the team. Now it's November and my taxes still aren't filed. My family has been and is still dealing with a significant amount of stress as we worry about late penalties and literal HOURS on the phone with the IRS trying to get things resolved.

After paying thousands of dollars in advance for bookkeeping and tax preparation, Wilson and Mildred became nearly impossible to reach. On the rare occasion that they did answer a phone call, we were assured that our bookkeeping was done and our tax filing was just around the corner. It's now well past the filing dates, and they still haven't shown us a P&L or completed any tax filings. Worse, after repeated requests and over a month past the late-filing deadline, we finally received a draft copy of our return. It had over $1,500,000 in transactions that were not made from any accounts that we own. Mildred has claimed that we're ineligible for a refund because they haven't had time to complete their services. Business taxes were due in March, it's November. For your mental health, please look elsewhere for accounting services. We've had to start over with a new accountant, and are looking at late fees and penalties. We're filing official complaints about this firm in the hopes that no one else will have to endure the stress, inconvenience and wasted time that they caused us.

I have been dealing with CPAs for almost 40 years professionally and personally, and I have never had a bad experience with any of them until I worked with Mildrid Esua and her husband Wilson. They agreed to prepare my NC, VA and federal tax returns by April 15th if I provided them with all pertinent records. I did. They said they needed a certain form from a company in which I own stock. Wilson assured me it was a Schedule K-3 form (which is for partnerships, not individual stockholders). Mildrid later said they needed a Schedule K-2 form, which I have never needed for tax preparation in the past and which my new CPA assures me is not needed now. In the end, they didn't file my tax returns, won't tell me if they filed extensions, and said they didn't agree to file my VA tax returns. I am now looking at having to pay penalties and interest charges as a result. Working with Mildrid and Wilson Esua was a nightmare. They wouldn't return phone calls or emails, they lied, they communicated poorly, and they were wholly unprofessional. I strongly recommend that you avoid them at all costs. They are a stain on the reputation of the accounting profession.
