Laurie Atwood, the owner of Children’s Creative Center, generously gave us a few minutes of her time to tell us about her award-winning business and its impressive online reputation.
To kick off our conversation, we asked Laurie what it is that sets Children’s Creative Center apart from their competition in Michigan. She told us that Children’s Creative Center is really involved with their community with local performances. They’ve raised thousands of dollars for their foundation, “Friends of Children’s Creative Center,” which donates to homeless and less-fortunate people in the community.
Laurie went on to tell us that she started Children’s Creative Center with the goal of providing child care to all children, not just those who can afford it.
We also wanted to know what their mission is at Children’s Creative Center and how they work to make the world a better place. Here’s what Laurie had to say:
“[Our mission is] to provide a safe, nurturing, enriching environment that will enhance the personal development of each child. We are deeply committed to providing a quality child care experience to all children with the support of our families and our community. We believe that every person deserves to be treated with respect, kindness and dignity.”
Laurie also shared Children’s Creative Center’s motto with us:
“’Respect, Kindness, and Dignity,’ from the staff to the students, everyone is expected to strive for this, and this is a main goal.”

“Children’s Creative Center has built a really strong community with both students and parents. A lot of the students return year after year and even come back for internships and jobs once they’re all grown up!”
