We wanted to learn all about Milwaukee Community Acupuncture and its tremendous online reputation, so we took a few minutes to talk with co-owner, Amy Severinsen.
The first question we had for Amy was what is it that sets Milwaukee Community Acupuncture apart from their competition in Wisconsin. Here’s Amy’s response:
“First and foremost, the affordability and accessibility of our appointments are a huge benefit to our community. People can get in usually the same day that they want to get in. They can typically afford the appointments. We’re on a sliding scale pay… We don’t require any income verification for people. It’s easy to use and easy to schedule, and all of our practitioners are very experienced and very kind.”
We also wanted to know what their mission is at Milwaukee Community Acupuncture and how they work to make the world a better place. Here’s what Amy had to say:

Building Success by Asking for Feedback

“We do ask patients to write us reviews from time to time. People will give us some feedback that’s really great, and we’ll just ask them to go ahead and leave a review for us online. Those positive reviews are really what drive people to come to our place. Acupuncture can be intimidating to try out, because not a lot of people are familiar with it and what the experience will be like. So hearing that positive word-of-mouth feedback from people is what really draws people in.”
When we asked Amy how Milwaukee Community Acupuncture has gotten their name out there outside of building a powerful online reputation, she said:
“We did have a news station come in and do a piece on us, and the news anchor actually received acupuncture himself, which was really fun. We participate in some local community events. There’s a once a year, Gallery Night, where we host an artist and people come in. We usually have some snacks and treats and hang up art around the clinic. People can then talk to us about our services. We offer talks. Some of our practitioners go out to different businesses and do lunch and learns. We participate in the Veterans Chamber of Commerce and the LGBQ Chamber of Commerce. We just try to get involved. We’re part of an opioid task force right now as well. …We try to get out as much as we can to join different groups but also have people coming into the space to see and experience it themselves as well. But, we often don’t pay for any marketing because we just don’t have a budget for it.”
