We sat down with Margarita Saunders, the owner of Computer Transformers, to learn a little more about who they are and how they managed to build such an impressive online reputation.
The first thing we wanted to know was what sets Computer Transformers apart. Margarita pointed to their affordable rates. At Computer Transformers, they charge a $45 flat fee for repairs — unless there’s water damage — and no hourly rate. Margarita also pointed to the fact that they are committed to helping their clients solve problems above all else:
“We don’t try to upsell or ask clients to buy new products. We do everything in our power to resolve the issue and make the repairs. All others in our area and in our industry focus on making more money, not on solving the problem.”
We also wanted to know why they do what they do at Computer Transformers and how they work to make the world a better place. Here’s what Margarita had to say:
“We enjoy doing it immensely. We see how people get ripped off without good service. You need to have knowledgeable techs who are willing to educate. We don’t even charge for diagnostics. We are also in the university area, and students need their equipment back fast, so we always keep that in mind.”

“My son is the main tech, and he never stops until he solves a problem. Every computer is a new challenge, and we strive to fix computers that no one else can. We get a lot of Macs, especially the older ones that aren’t supported. We always figure out a way to get it done. Our techs are very experienced, and our knowledge is far superior. In fact, we also educate our clients to make sure they don’t suffer from similar issues. We fix things, like board damage and water damage. If its a quick fix, we often don’t charge and just ask for the reviews!”
Outside of building a powerful online reputation, Margarita has grown Computer Transformers through fliers and advertisements in the Daily Lobo. They advertised on Yelp in the past but didn’t see results from it. However, reviews are their most effective source of growth.

“My advice is to hang in there. We see a lot of tech companies give up because they don’t persevere. It takes a while to build up a clientele. People won’t know who you are, so you have to get your information out there and hang in through the inevitable early dry spells of the business.”
