Not Your Average Computer IT Service

We wanted to learn what makes this award-winning business tick, so we took a few minutes to talk with Michael Begin, the President of Millennium Computer Services of CT.

To kick off our conversation, we asked Michael about what makes Millennium Computer Services of CT unique compared to the many other computer IT services in Connecticut. Michael told us about their many years of experience and said:

“We are a Managed Services Provider (MSP), so we have a lot of services that we have standardized on to keep computers running well all of the time. …We are certified in Business Continuity Planning (BCP) and Disaster Recovery (DR). There are nine of us here who are all dedicated to providing the best practice services to all of our clients. We have six techs who are specialized and certified in servers, workstations and complex networks. We are accessible to our clients during and after hours. Our billing is very transparent and simplified, so that our clients do not receive surprise invoices. We provide inventory reports yearly to our clients so that they know at any point in time what they should be budgeting for to replace aging computers. We have had a 99-percent retention since 1995 because of the attention to detail, the attention to service and our commitment to providing managed services, meeting our service level agreements with our clients and having the talent to do the work that they need us to do.”

Michael went on to add:

“We do another thing that not too many people do. We have something called Virtual Chief Information Officer (VCIO). We are the Chief Information Officer for our clients, where we have a partnership and where we get involved in all of their IT decision-making, whether it’s choosing an ERP system or an EMR system, or implementing that solution. We work very closely with the client. We don’t just wait for the phone to ring… We actually prevent problems before they happen, so that we’re not fighting fires.”

We also asked Michael about the Millennium Computer Services of CT mission and how they work to make the world a better place. Michael shared with us that their mission is to utilize proactive measures to keep computers running safely and well. Michael told us a little bit about how they give back to their community:

“We contribute charitable donations to organizations; we do work for nonprofit organizations, and we lower our rates for them.”

Building Success Through Organic Reviews

Michael credits Millennium Computer Services of CT’s strong online reputation to their many organic reviews.

Outside of building a powerful online reputation, Millennium Computer Services of CT has grown through digital marketing and word of mouth.

There are many business owners looking to grow their business and build their online reputation. When we asked what advice he has for them, Michael told us a little bit about his company’s growth in the early years:

“A lot of luck and perseverance came into play. Being honest with my clients and getting them to talk me up to help me build the company, it was hard. It’s hard work. But if you are fair to your clients and don’t just try to make a ton of money upfront but to make money over the long-term, then you’re going to retain your clients. That’s probably the most important thing — to not lose your clients. If a company wants to be successful, it takes a lot of hard work, a lot of luck and long hours…”

Congratulations to Millennium Computer Services of CT for being a 2019 Top Rated Local award winner, and thank you so much, Michael, for taking the time to speak with us!
