Not Your Average Dance School
We were excited to learn all about Second Street Dance Studio and how they have gotten where they are today, so we sat down with the Co-Owner (with her husband, Tim), Sue Bourget. Sue minored in dance, and has been teaching dance for over 30 years. After teaching in a franchised studio, she saw the opportunity to create a studio that was both affordable, and fun for everyone.
Sue told us about her commitment to providing an affordable option for dancers of all ages and experience levels. She said that this studio isn’t the typical dance studio that caters to kids, but that they teach salsa, rumba, cha cha, hustle, merengue, swing, jitterbug, West Coast swing, bolero, waltz, tango, foxtrot, quick step, and Viennese waltz. Sue told us:
“We allow students to take a half-hour lesson, group class, or even party and group class combos to make it more affordable for everyone.”
Building Success, Online And Off
Second Street Dance Studio has earned a fantastic reputation, so we wanted to know about some of the ways they have grown their business over the years. Sue said that word of mouth and having great outdoor signage have been incredibly helpful for them. They also use a Facebook page to keep in touch with their community and reach out to new potential clients.
