We took a few minutes to talk with Gabriel Steven Harvey, owner and Artistic Director at Underground Dance Co, to learn a little more about the business and how they managed to build such an impressive online reputation.
The first thing we wanted to know was what sets Underground Dance Co apart from the many other dance studios in Alaska. Here’s what Gabriel had to say:
“We have many programs within the studio to make peoples’ days better. We have a special program here called Dream Team that specializes in people with disabilities. We’ve partnered with LEWK, which specializes in cancer awareness. We also provide a free class for parents of children who dance at the school. The parents have turned it into a competitive dance program. Also, we go to low income areas and schools to provide programs for them for free.’
