Not Your Average Dance Studio
We were excited to learn all about how Universal Dance Academy has been able to build such an impressive reputation, so we sat down with the Co-Owner, Vivian Ball.
The first thing we wanted to know was what it is that makes Universal Dance Academy stand apart from their competitors. Vivian told us that she and the other owner have dedicated their lives to sharing the art of dance with every single student who comes to them, and not just the hand-picked ‘most talented’ kids. She said that their studio teaches everyone who comes through their doors, and she knows that they have more boys than any other studio in Nebraska.
We also chatted about what their mission is at Universal Dance Academy, which she defined as:
“Empowering young people to be leaders in the community, to be good people first and then to be good dancers second.”
Building Success Through Hard Work and Dedication
Universal Dance Academy has managed to build an impressive reputation, so we were excited to learn about some of the ways they have marketed and grown their business. Vivian shared that they have recently gotten very involved in social media, where they have a presence and are able to keep up with their community on Facebook and Instagram.
There are many businesses out there that are looking to build as impressive a reputation as Universal Dance Academy has managed to. We asked if Vivian could share any expert advice with these companies. Here’s what she had to say:
“Just work hard and really dedicate as much love and everything to the business [as you can]. It’s easy to go in and do a so-so job, but give your 100-percent every time you’re there working and to everything that you do. We try to give 100-percent to our teaching, to our office, to the clients that come in. I would basically just say if it’s something that you love and it’s a family-owned business, put your heart and soul into it. I come from a family-owned business and saw my parents work very, very hard. I just tried to continue that same thing in our business.”
