We had a chance to speak with owner, Dave Krzyzak, about his business’ online reputation and success. Here’s what he had to say:
What is your secret to such a strong online reputation?
I take care of my customers. They get to take the reigns. I don’t even ask for reviews. All I do is treat them right and that makes them want to help me out by leaving a review. I’m not a salesman. I just want to do what’s right for my customers and make sure they’re taken care of.
What makes you different? In other words, if you had one minute to sell somebody on why they should choose you, what would you say?
Palm Valley Garage Doors is family- and veteran-owned. All of our techs are family as well. I work hard not to be pushy with our customers and make sure I am there to advise them and do the right thing.
Why do you do what you do? In other words, what is your mission and/or how do you attempt to make the world a better place?
I always have the interest of my clients in mind, and my mission is to always do the right thing. I don’t want to grow an empire. I like being a small business that puts family first. I always want my family and friends, as well as my clients, to be taken care of.
Outside of building a strong online reputation, what else do you do to market and grow your business?
When I started, I ran some local campaigns around town. I printed brochures, did some ads for a local magazine, and ran some phonebook ads. Beyond that, I do work in the local community and build relationships in our area in order to spread the word about the business.
What advice do you have for other businesses trying to build a strong online reputation and grow their business?
Treat your customers right. Be honest and have their best interests in mind. That will go a long way in building lasting relationships and getting repeat business.
